Why Jones And Calzaghe Will Always Rate Higher Than Hopkins

Please. Joe even knows he didn't win, he just won't admit, and how do I know that. Because he didn't wanna give Hopkins the rematch, he just use an excuse, like your doing for hopkins using spoiling tatcis, it was Hopkins skills and ring savvy, why limited Calzaghe from doing what he's used to getting away with, with other fighters.

 

Roy beats them all, but Joe gives him the most trouble.

Hopkins beats Toney and loses to Jones and Calzaghe.

Toney has his best chance against Hopkins, but Calzaghe and Jones both beat him close but clear. I think James loses to all of them though.

Calzaghe is at worst 60/40 with Jones, beats both Hopkins and Toney.

I hope that made sense.

 

Let's see here the only legitimate opponent Calzaghe fought in their prime was Kessler, Kessler isn't a great fighter.

Hopkins beat a guy like Glen Johnson in the 90s, Glen has been ducked and avoided, he's also been robbed countless times, he also packs a mean punch.

Glen Johnson is better than Kessler in my opinion, Glen is kinda old now and hes still competing at a high level.

2. Jones (The greatest of the 3 in his prime)
3. Calzaghe

 

I can for Jones beating Hopkins, but the Calzaghe one I can't agree with. I think a prime Hopkins beats Calzaghe lopsidedly. I think Calzaghe would put up a better fight with Toney though, but I'd take Toney in that fight too.

fair to argue Hopkins has a better legacy than Calzaghe. Head to head obviously Joe has the advantage. Jones is below both of them.

And maybe you weren't watching, but Calzaghe fought a PRIME Hopkins and won. Age is not a relevant factor when determining a fighter's "prime"

And 3rd is definately Calzaghe. An ATG...yes but could have fought on a few more times.

 

There is no argument, Calzaghe's best prime opponent victory was Kessler. Jones destroyed Hopkins and Toney in the mid 90's, Calzaghe fought both Hop/Roy almost 14 years after that when they were walking around with canes.

Calzaghe was skilled and had fast hands, but he simply didn't fight enough great opponents in their prime.

Jones winning a Heavyweight championship seals this deal for me, he's clearly #1, I don't care how many times he continues to embarrass himself in the ring by fighting on.

 

Calzaghe will never rank as highly as Hopkins or RJJ, it's not even close. Calzaghe resume simply lacks the depth to ever be regarded too highly. What is his best win? A close close victory against a Hopkins in his 40's or a prime Kessler? Not really the resume of a legend is it.

It's a real shame really, Calzaghe had the talent and ability to be an ATG he just never took the chances and never had a promoter that truly believed in him.

 

You keep dreaming and maybe it'll come true. The BTW, the judges beat Bernard Hopkins, it wasn't Mr. Calzaghe, but you'll still Calzaghe beat him though. You probably had Calzaghe winning with a wide score.:roll:
