Sheer utter dominane by Jones. People tend to underestimate Jones due to the names on his resume. It doesn't change the fact that physically he was the greatest to ever do it. Especially in his 96-03 era.

Had Jones retired after Ruiz he would be in the Hall of Fame and an Top 10 ATG.
    So,

    Jones
    Hopkins
    Calzaghe
    Toney

The thing all three of them had in common is that they were all at one time supremely confident. Roy may have been the most confident of all of them, but he ended up the least confident. Hops and Joe never lost it, but thats because neither guy was ever KOd like that. Had they moved up to 25 lbs and came back down they too might have been the victim of a KO.

Of the three of them, Hopkins is the most technically sound, Joe is the least imo. But, he has the biggest heart of the three imo. Roy is the most talented. In their primes, nobody beat their opponents in the fashion that Roy did.

At the end of the day though, Prime Roy at 168 beats Hopkins, dominates Kessler, dominates Robin Reid and an old Eubank, and dominates Lacy even more than he did when he was shot (if that is possible), dominates Pavlik, Pascal, and the others around his fight weight. But, I dont think he dominates Tarver, of Johnson like Hopkins.

I think Jones was the best, but Hopkins should take the #1 spot based on his wins and accomplishments. Jones is no doubt 2nd, and Joe a respectable 3rd.

    :lol::rofl:patsch

Glass Jaw Roy Jones handpicked fights, refused to fight the best, made ridiculous excuses and demands and had one of the most fragile and disgraceful Glass Jaws in the sport.

Hopkins and Calzaghe are already above him.

How do you figure he had a glass jaw? Cause he got KOd at 35 years old after coming back down in weight almost 20 pounds? He took some good shots in his prime, people act like he was never hit. He was. Jorge Castro hit him with some great punches and he was a terrific puncher. Toney had a high KO percentage at the time as did Hopkins...and getting KOd is never disgraceful. It takes a lot just to get in there and anyone can be KOd.

No one rates Calzaghe anywhere near Hopkins, most people have Calzaghe just inside there top 100, whilst Hopkins well and truly higher.

Yeah he was knocked down, but not hurt. Most fighters have been down in their career. Besides, he won nearly every round and took Del Valles title. You clearly dont like Roy, which is fine, but your reaching.

    That generation I have it

    Bernard
    Roy
    Joe
    James

Unless any of the bottom three make a dramatically successful comeback I don't see it changing.

I also rate bernard about oscar, tito, floyd and emmanuel.

Calzaghe better than either of those soft bums. Soft pussies both of them. Joe would eat their mother's.

Yeah Hopkins was really building that legacy fighting all those nobodies at middleweight and boxing fans still talk in hush tones about the legendary Hopkins-Allen trilogy.
