Exactly. Lewis gets overrated because he was the last great HW champ. He was a great fighter, certainly borderline top ten. But nowhere NEAR as undebatablely great as some like to make out.
holyfield and arguably tyson? i don't think so..lewis was the best of that era, full stop..and this is with bowe being scared to fight him, holyfield avoiding him till later in his career, moorer didn't want to fight him, foreman said he didn't want to fight him, and tyson would rather pay millions in step-aside money because he was ****-scared of him and fight holyfield instead. i know lewis not being american is why your bias..and him beating all your fighters..but you've just got to deal with it:tong
sorry to say but this guys been smoking beans. You may have been there for which ever fights u wanna say you were at but it obviously makes you no more qualified to give an opinion on boxing than any of my girlfriends that have come to watch boxing with me or watch me box. I dont even think this thread deserves to be argued with. he may have been knocked out twice but is one of the few people to beat everybody he faced throughout his career and was heaad and shoulders the best heavy of that era.
For the era and in the context in which they happened? Very good wins. Calling rematch wins over mccall and rahman great is sort of stretching it.
Why? To appease you? Who cares if I don't hold lewis in the highest regard? I still acknowledge he is a great HW champion. Just not on par with the best ever.
the quarry win outweighs lewis's wins? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl stop it..just stop it. i think we need a doctor here:yep
