Why Lennox Lewis most likely would've beaten Vitali Klitschko in a rematch

Lewis was getting old and Vitaly was entering his prime. Lewis wouldn't be better in a rematch.

I don't think that it is by any means out of the question that Lewis would have won.

Because combat sports fans are tribal and nationalistic.:nonono
They always will believe that their nation/ country fighter is better and will be better.
    It is human nature.

No means and question, Lewis had lost if he had rematch with Vitali.
Ofc Vitali is not from U.K, he is from Ukraine and therefore nationalistic and tribal fans think that Vitali was worse than Lewis.

I wasn't asking a question, but I think you are essentially right.

I am a fan of both, a countryman of neither. I was with Lewis longer and am a bit bigger fan, similar to how I like Joshua and Fury now, but am a bit more of a Fury fan.

I think a rematch could have went either way. Lewis was the better man overall, but Vitali did have youth and a certain momentum.

Lennox would be prepared to defend his titles against his #1 contender. He had trained for a warm up against Kirk Johnson who he knew hadnt been training seriously. Days before Kirk pulled out & to save the card Lennox said OK I'll fight Vitali now. Name me one other World HW champ that took on his #1 on 2 or 3 days notice ?? Lennox won TKO-6
while barely 80 % ready he'd have absolutely destroyd Vitali in a rematch

but you can't tar everybody with the same brush.
once you get to know individual posters, then you will have a better idea of how to objectively assess each person's preferences/bias...or lack of it.

you're using your belief that vitali would have won the rematch to judge other people's opinions, based on a blanket assumption, if they disagree with you.

How is about these articles, you will claim that I'm their author?

/ Of course Lewis is very good and highly skilled boxer and he even likes me a lot. He is nice guy too.
/ However blanket assumptions here are done by his fans.
/ Also Lewis had won first fight with TKO because cut not because he managed to knock Vitali out.
    It does matters a lot.

i haven't said your opinion was right or wrong, so you don't need to post any of the above.
i'm just saying that you can't assume that everyone is picking lewis in a fantasy rematch because people automatically pick a fighter from the US or UK.

Ofc I think If Lewis was younger then most likely he had won 2 fights vs Vitali.
Like prime Klitscko had destroyed A.J like a pupp but A.J fans are celabrating A.J win vs 41 y.o Klitschko like marquee win.
I can't imagine how A.J might deal with the same prime Lewis;):) or 35 y.o Klitschko.

I suppose I'd have been inclined to make Vitali a very narrow favourite, because of how the first fight went and because of the age difference.

I say only "very narrow" because, looking at Lewis, I'd definitely say that the facet of his game that looked the weakest on the night was his cardio fitness, which probably was connected to a degree to poor preparation, including but not limited to being overweight, rather than to inevitable physical decline brought about by ageing.

Other aspects of his toolkit that night, notably punch resistance, didn't obviously scream 'hopelessly shot fighter' to me, he also seemed to show a reasonable ability to evade punches and to get off his own. Overall I suspect he, if he'd got himself in the best possible shape, was, whilst certainly past his very best, also a fair way from being totally shot.

You have to laugh at someone citing Hatman Stinks Back as a credible, objective source of information.

LOL, no. He was getting older and even in his prime he NEVER destroyed anyone with a good chin. NOt a f*cking single time im his career. Did he destroy:

    - Tucker (old, mind you)?
    - Mercer?
    - McCall (who was on crack)?
    - Mavrovic?
    - old Holyfield?
    - old Holyfield again?
    - fat, out of shape David Tua?
    - Vitali?
