Why Loma and TBE break their hands when Ward and GGG don't!

The answer is slapping punches with your fingers instead of using your knuckles like you are taught in basic training. You are taught to turn your wrist and fist with the punch and push forward through your target. These guys have a style that requires speed and agility so they neglect the basics of punching. It mostly results in a lot of broken hands. Roy Jones had this problem throughout his career also.

Here is Loma vs Piriyapinyo where he finally realizes that he broke his hand. The shot that did it was multiple slapping punches across the skull.

Ward, Rigondeaux, Golovkin are great examples of guys who punch through the target for maximum effect.

Ward adjust his shots very well depending on how he reads his opponents.

Gennady Golovkin always keeps his eyes on his opponents when he throws a punch and they are always "perfectly basic" shots, if that makes any sense to you.

They both do break their hands not applying full punches. I really meant to be neutral and there are no sides to the fact that these guys have hand problems. I thought about this because I was in the gym today and I watched a young guy mess his hands up throwing those slapping punches. He had on the wrong size gloves for his weight to begin with and his hands were hitting the head gear full on where his fingers fold.
