Margarito wants to fight Delahoya for the same reason PBF and every other fighter wants the golden boy, it's the money stupid! But of course he will not get criticized like Mayweather Jr. did. The bottom line is Margarito waited a long time to get a big money fight and now he wants the biggest cash cow of them all and that's the Golden Boy. Let's face it, Margarito is a tough and strong fighter but he lacks the skill to beat a Paul Williams, a healthy Joshua Clottey or the masterful pugilist Pretty Boy Floyd. These three guys have superior defense and will counter him all fight long. I do not begrudge Margarito for wanting a big payday, I think he deserves it. However,I contend he is an overrated slugger that eats way too many shots and will not last long with that style. ( see jose castillo, eric morales and marco barrera)

I don't hate on Floyd or Margo or Winky or any other fighter for wanting a payday against Oscar. I hate the stupid ass fans that keep paying for those dumb ass fights thus creating an enviroment where good fights don't get made cause everyone is lining up to fight a washed up 35 year old who hasn't had a meaningful win in years.

Last time I checked, I never heard Margarito say he was the greatest fighter of all time.

It's like anything in life. If you make a statement, then you must be prepared to back it up. Mayweather was never prepared to back it up, so fans shouldn't be surprised how resented he is by the Boxing world. This isn't reality TV.

You joking?, Margarito doesn't even fight for money, he fights for Gladiator status, didn't his fans educate you on that matter yet? :huh

This fight won't be for money, it will be for legacy and pride, just ask Ambition_Def if you don't believe me, he was able to convince me at least.

No way in hell Oscar gets in the ring with Margo. He needs to find someone a bit easier to handle these days.

It's about the fooking money. Coin. Dead presidents. Cash. Moola.

DLH is the money train and Margarito wants a piece.

    It ain't rocket science.

You didn't read what I said. He would have handled his business had he not come out with the **** that he is a superior fighter to the likes of Sugar Ray Robinson. The man thinks he can beat Corrales, Castillo, and Baldomir and then go on record saying "I respect what Muhammad Ali done, but I'm a better fighter". Don't tell us Mayweather, I'd much prefer you to show us by clearing out your division at 147, something Ali managed to do in his prime and after it.

Margarito likely made a prediction about stopping his opponent, but I don't find that disrespectful. When all was said and done, he went on record to apoligise to Williams and credit him with the victory. A credit Margarito.

I'll put it easy for you. I and everybody else respects Mayweather as a boxer, and we mostly regard him as an all time great of some kind. However, when you pubicly talk **** about the all time greats and then fight Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya instead of Miguel Cotto, Williams, or Margarito, then your going to have your skeptics.

De la Hoya is all wrong for Margo and would beat him up. Unlike Cotto he woulld have the reach to keep him on the outside with his jab and would be spared a lot of the inside flurries that Margo hit Cotto with. It's a lot riskier fight for Margo than Williams or Clottey.

Don't see how you can call Margarito ovverrated after knocking out two of the best welterweights in his last two fights. Let's not be too quick to discount AM's destruction of Cintron in the rematch. After all, Cintron had a title and was looking like a real force at 147. Yes, Margarito lost to Williams but he was on his was to knocking Williams out IMO. This is not nuthuggery talking either. I was routing for Williams that fight. Williams built a commanding lead early in the fight but Margarito was coming on strong later in the fight. If they fight again, I believe AM will finish the job by throwing more and being aggressive early...and where do you get your balls saying that Floyd would definietly beat this guy when he ran from him like a little *****. You're thread lacks objectivty and your opinions are laughable. There are a lot of guys that are better boxers than Margarito, but his toughness, will and power make up for it....did you even see the Cotto fight? I guess Cotto was overrated too.

I agree...how can you say you're the best but than don't fight the best. Its amazing his nuthuggers are so blind. They always defend him by saying how much money he makes.
