That was when his trainer told him to completely forget about defense and go after him. Cotto gets hit with power shots with ease, that's a fact.
TOTAL PUNCHES--AS IN ALL THE PUNCHES IN THE FIGHT Cotto landed 43% total punches to Judah's 29%. Cotto landed 37% total punches to Mosley's 32%
Who gives a **** about jabs? Some fighters paw with it.. atsch I, Me, Myself, was talking pure power punches. Im not talking total connects. Im talking power punches only. Which 3 of Cottos opponents that I know of most of which weren't that stellar have landed over 50% of their POWER PUNCHES.
Some fighters paw with it..like Mosley, but not Cotto...Cotto has a sledge hammer jab...Did you see how it pops peoples head back..Look at the Mosley fight. If Cotto would paw with it and he was a light hitter than I may be more likely to see yor point. BUT Cotto does not paw with his jab and he is not a light hitter so you cannot discredit his jab. Besides fights are not scored on "power punches only"
Im not discrediting his jab. Im saying, Cotto is open to power punches. Because he is! Most people dont use the jab first approach against Cotto, they lead with other punches. And mostly paw or use it as a distance finder.
You know what I think is that for some reason he likes to walk through punches than avoid them. I mean we've seen that he can slip punches and that he has a good base to go low but he chooses not to do so all the time. I think that is why we are surprised, or some of us are surprised at Cotto sometimes, because you think he is one way and then in another fight he ends up doing the opposite. For example, many people consider him a pressure fighter only and view him as having very little boxing ability. We have seen him adapt, fight on the back foot and show versatility in his last fight. So then the perception is beginning to change. Like maybe he is not just a pressure fighter. They say he is a slow plodder. We have seen his fast punching and precise movement in the ring. We have seen him with fast slick opposition and still come out on top and demonstrate his own speed. They say he can only fight coming forward. I think there is more to Cotto than meets the eye. Or maybe he is susceptible to power punches like you say. I guess only time will tell the full story.
Cotto began his pro career 5 years after PBF. Cotto and PBF have common opponents so you if you say not so stellar opponents for Cotto than the same for PBF. Cotto has been moved along nicely. He just fought Mosley and PBF back to back so you can't say that his oppossition has been lacking. He has beaten at least 3 undefeated fighters. Previous world champions and current world champions. Even though PBF might be P4P the best his resume can be critcized just as easily as you criticze Cotto's.
HOLY ****, you are a DUMB MOTHER ****ER. Cotto's JAB often was his power shot. MAN, please just shut the **** up. You don't watch fights. You're just a gay ass *****. Slap yourself. atsch
atsch A power punch is any punch other than a jab you ****in never watched a fight in his life use the deal or no deal approach gay ass mother ****er. Not all punches aside from a jab are "powerful," ya ****.
Your the one who just said a jab is a power punch. So Mosleys pawing jab a is power punch. :rofl:rofl
Also capsfunds, I dont care how often he hit his opponents. I was talking merely on how much he gets hit, which you completely ignored. Dumbass.
Most of their common opponents weren't stellar. Except for Judah and The Mayweather that Judah faced was way better then the one Cotto faced.
