The collapse against Filip Hrgovic didn't just stop a win streak, it destroyed an entire narrative. The kid was carried out of the ring on a stretcher at 21 years old and that was honestly the exact moment the career of Moses Itauma came to an end

You just have to look at his situation. He literally mentioned last year that he never planned on boxing forever. He always wanted to get in, make his money, and get out early. Right now he already has millions in the bank and comes from a very educated background with a father who is a chemist. He simply doesn't need this sport to live a good life. Why would a multimillionaire 21 year old who already ended up in a hospital bed risk his long term health for another beating

On top of that there is the athletic reality because he would have to completely rebuild his style

He has been boxing the exact same way for ten years. Maximum explosiveness, crazy high pace, and looking to exploit every gap for a quick knockout. That exact style was his downfall against Hrgovic because he never learned how to pace himself over twelve rounds or how to survive in the clinch. To get back to the top he would have to completely reprogram his body and reflexes. He would need to learn how to box economically, give away rounds, and survive defensively. A change that deep takes years and a ridiculous amount of energy

After a public humiliation like that he probably won't want to find that energy anyway. When you get hyped as the next Mike Tyson for years and then collapse helplessly in front of the whole world, it breaks something mentally. That belief of being invincible is completely gone

And you can't compare this to Daniel Dubois at all

Dubois took a loss against Joe Joyce, but that was a totally different story. Dubois made a smart decision to take a knee with a broken orbital bone to protect his eye. He walked out of the ring on his own two feet, came from a boxing family, and had to fight his way back up financially, which he eventually did

Itauma's situation looks way more like Jared Anderson

He was hyped as the next big thing in the US, but always kept saying he wanted to retire by 27. Once he got stopped hard by Martin Bakole, that hunger and drive just vanished. When young prospects who already have one foot out the door lose their invincibility, they rarely find a reason to keep going through the grind

Moses Itauma has the money, he has the education, and now he knows how brutal the heavyweight division really is. There is a massive chance we just watched the final chapter of a career that got hyped way too soon

I'm not saying there's a 100% chance he never steps foot in a ring again, but expecting him to rebuild his entire style, recover mentally, and fight his way back to a world title when he already has the money and the options to walk away just is.. yea you know..

This is a big test and a humbling for the young man

He will either find a deep desire for the sport, or he may well

Do you have some links to his fights he had in primary school so I Can sensecheck this?

On a serious note, he absolutely rinsed Hrgovic for 8 rounds, if he can just improve his stamina by 20-30% or so he is unbeatable. A few million on the bank account seems tiny when you look at Usyk & Fury’s triple digit wealth.

How much money could he possibly have? Is he going to live off 6 or 7 million for the next 60 years? That never works out for anyone. Might as well learn from it and get back in there

Did you pull this out of your ass? Because it makes no sense. A lot of you seem to be wishing the guy is ruined. Strange behavior.

Please have a doctor examine your head. Your ability to think rationally is severely compromised.

Check for Vitamin B12 deficiency. If Moses comes back better you'll just look silly won't you.

Moses looked amazing. And Hrgovic agrees.
