    Oh lord,
here we go again. I wish you people would cut the **** about Floyd trying to fight Cotto. It NEVER happened. Floyd has NEVER once called Cotto fight. He was asked if he was interested in Cotto. He simply said no b/c at the time Cotto was too "green"

    Get the facts straight.

I never called Cotto unproven but after PBF beats him the haters will discredit the win and call him overrated like they have done for everyone of PBF's 39 victories. Hernadez he was old, Chico weight drained and had legal problems, JLC got robbed JLC2 He ran, Gatti overrated club fighter, Zab mental head case didn't prove ****, Oscar shot fighter a prime Oscar stops PBF in 1 round, Hatton overrated and too small. Do you not see the pattern here? No matter who he beats it won't be enough and the haters will have an excuse its happened after every PBF win and it's pathetic.:deal

Everything written about those fighters is the absolute truth.

Cotto has earned all his praises. I dont think any one can truly discredit Cotto in any way unless they really just dont like him.

If Floyd beat Cotto, there should be no excuses for Cotto. He simply will have gotten beaten by the better man.

Unlike Diego, Cotto doesnt have legal/family problems
    Unlike Zab, Cotto is cool-headed
Unlike Gatti, Cotto is a great fighter who didnt get his rep by taking
    beatings.
Unlike Hatton, Cotto is a legit welterweight who's claim to fame is not
from KO's 35 english Cab drivers and 2 over the hill
    fighters.
Unlike DLH, Cotto is completely in his prime.

No excuses for Cotto. If PBF wins, he is the man!

the general EXCUSE for mayweather club boys is this

"why should mayweather have to fight this unproven fighter who has done nothing to earn his shot" ... i believe thats what the general idea is ..

There is a big difference between now and 2005. Floyd has propelled into the limelight since then, you have to bring more to the table in order to be worth his time. that's EXACTLY why he is not yet fighting Cotto. Cotto needs to make himself a household name, then Floyd will whoop him.

ok heres an unbiased perspective on this becuase i dont like either of them....first cotto doesnt have to prove himself anymore to me he deserves a shot. second mayweather isnt ducking cotto because i can assure u he isnt afraid of cotto. third i wish just as much as the rest of u that floyd cared more about good fights than he does about money but i guess if any of us were in his situation we would look for large money opportunities as well and if u dont believe it ur delusional. lastly if this fight did happen mayweather would probably kick cottos ass over 12 rounds

I think his win over Oscar was a good one personally considering they were fighting at JM. If you ask me there is no one else deserving of the fight than Cotto right now. I have never though Williams was that much of a big deal considering the only person he beat was Margo who hasn't done anything himself at WW. I just think Cotto deserves the fight because he is clearly the best of the rest.

I'm a PBF fans and I'm upset that he's fighting Oscar for the second time. The only fight out there for him is Cotto.

I like cotto, but I don't think he looked particularly good against Shane Mosely. I would love to see a Mayweather Cotto matchup, but I fear Mayweather would pick him apart just has he does every other "go forward and punch" boxer.

    I am a Mayweather fan.

Cotto could stop fighting until 2009 and he would still deserve a shot at Mayweather. He clearly deserves that fight over anyone else, unless someone like Mosley came into the scene and suddenly beat Cotto in a rematch, Forrest, Hatton, Quitana and Margarito.

But that won't happen and Cotto deserves that fight.

I also think that, if that fight happened, Mayweather would humilliate Cotto. He would beat Cotto with ease.

Nobody is ducking nobody. The fight is not happening this year because they want Cotto to increase his name and marketeability. Arum, Mayweather and Cotto himself desire that, because they all want more money.
