My recommendation is to not use boxing rules' logic to score MMA fights. A 10-6 round is the dumbest thing I've heard all day. He got rocked and dropped twice, alright. He survived the round, did some damage to Maynard at the end of the round, 10-8 is a fair score. He didn't get absolutely manhandled either, he got rocked and he was close to being stopped, that's it. He wasn't controlled against the floor and pounded on, he didn't take a full 5 minute beating, he did land his own shots. He was rewarded, he got a 10-8 round. By your logic, what did Marquez do in the first round to be awarded 6 points? It's a different sport and the judging is different, especially considering there's usually 12 rounds in a boxing match and the rounds are a lot shorter. How the **** is anyone meant to logically fight back if they're 10-6 down? Can they even get a draw? I honestly don't think that was a 10-7 round, I've seen worser beatings. I really scratch my head at anyone who thinks Maynard deserved to take that belt, I truly do.
