Enlighten me oh great ESB scribes. Who makes the decision or lack of it? Why did they not suspend him? Any links to their decision? It seems unfathomable. I can't think of a clearer case for suspension. 6 months at least. Hadn't he done something similar before? If so, I would think a year would be in order. He screwed the fans, he screwed the promoters, he screwed the networks, he screwed his opponent Nate Campbell, and he screwed himself - but thats not punishment enough. There needs to be some consequences for this kind of crap. If fighters know that they can get right back into the ring in a few months, that takes away the motivation to abide by the rules. Now the other issue, is of course, the difficulty of making weight, regulating fighters' weights in the weeks prior to the fight, and possibly going back to same day weigh ins, there are pros and cons on this issue.... But....didn't Guzman say he was A OK just fine ready to go and give no indication that there was any trouble in the weeks leading up to the fight? In any event, 6 months minimum suspension seems in order.
You would think then, he would have seized the opportunity after so much bad luck. It sets a bad precedent for other fighters to follow. And everyone else who got screwed by this should just feel sorry for him and eat their losses? No. It doesn't work that way. Or it shouldn't.
not very professional. theres not much room for error when all that money is on the line, production costs, ticket sales...... pretty damn slack
