Why no love for Pac's "strengths"?

Against my better judgement, I am going to attempt to engage in a conversation about Pacquiao and i just know that someone will respond with something UTTERLY ridiculous. I am well aware of what Pacquiao brings to to the sport...He brings the Casual Fan, That's it.


Example...Look at the gif that a "Casual Fan" posted and then all the Casual Fans came in and start acting like what they are seeing is something spectacular. Where-as real knowledgeable boxing fans see "The Whole Picture" and will say: "Wow, he is fast, but why is his opponent who is the bigger, taller fighter with a longer reach just standing flat-footed and allowing a smaller opponent to just closed distance and punch at will. The first thing any trainer will tell a fighter is that defense starts with your feet and if you're taller than your opponent...then "Fight Tall".

I was watching an old 70's Pimp movie and this guy was getting "serviced" by a prostitute and said something that made perfect sense about how you Pactatrds see Pacquiao. He said: "He baby, how are you gonna suck a C**k without playing with the balls".

How do you ****ing idots suck Pacquiao's C**K by saying how great, skillful, fast he is without acknowledging the serious flaws and limitations of his opponents. Then when he he finally faces a talented opponent, instead of giving the opponent any credit, or acknowledging Pacquiao's flaws, what do you ****ers say:

I think that 2008/2009 were pacs prime years,

the best performance I've seen IMO was vs Diaz, that performance was almost flawless, yes Diaz may not have been an A* fighter but IMO that performance by Pac would have beaten any lightweight past or present

If its that easy bro why dont u go box for a living. Im sure youll be champion, since all it takes is "throwing fast punches." btw Cotto doesnt have a longer reach then Manny they are basically the same, and height wise their about the same too. U obviously dont know a dam thing ur talking about . If its just a matter of moving your feet and outboxing Pacquiao youd think someone would have thought of that by now. Marquez happens to be a great fighter with elite level skills and he's been in the ring enough with pacquiao and studied him enough to do well against him.

I'm sure you think everything pacquiao does is just speed and athleticism , and that boxing only revolves around defense. No, none of that combination punching, feinting, punch placement, countering that pacquiao does has anything to do with skill or timing. Learn about offensive fighting, or better yet get into a ring and see how hard it is to land punches let alone combinations with the fluidy and accuracy that pacquiao is able to.

Maybe if he faced someone with that ability. Do you remember Pacquiao and Roach's AWESOME quote prior to the Mosley fight: "SHANE MOSLEY WILL BE THE FASTEST FIGHTER I HAVE FACED IN MY CAREER". A 40 year old way past his prime fighter is the fastest fighter Team Pacquiao has ever fought...ARE U FUCJKING KIDDING ME, THTA'S ALMOST 60 PRO FIGHTS, and Mosley is the fastest?

U don't point out good strengths of manny,

1) his faint had been figured out for a while its always been the same
2) his lead left has always been pointed out

Despite my opinion of manny being flawed as a boxer , I admire his speed, and work right. Honestly I think that's what's got him wins and theirs nothing wrong with that at all. His ability to take punches to land his powerful fast shots also gives him a edge. I think a lot of his opponent above 135 underestimated pac because of his size and manny draws them into his game to exchange with him. When put up against a boxer (mosley, jmm) you could see manny gets frustrated that they won't stand and engage with him. I take nothing away from pac and admire him. But hate the bs untouchable fighter that many of you all make him out to be. Manny has always been credited for his speed , work rate , and warrior like style . But now that he got a win over Marquez that should of gone the other way , most *******s don't credit Marquez either. Instead they call him a cheater, said he didn't do enough, his face was marked, etc etc. You guys refuse to acknowledge the fact that Marquez made him look less then impressive. Manny is the better fighter, Marquez is the better boxer.

NEVER said that combination was something incredibly spectacular. NEVER said Cotto was a great technical fighter or had a great defense. I've said in the past that he'd struggle mightily to be a top 10 fighter back in the 1990s era of welterweights/junior middleweights. The things I praised were Pacquiao's handspeed and explosiveness when throwing that combination. His accuracy should be praised, too. Pretty much did the best he could there with the opponent in front of him. He lit Cotto up like a ****ing Christmas tree. So please show me where I described Pacquiao's technical skills as great. And PLEASE point out where I wrote the parts mentioned in the beginning of the paragraph, before you go ahead and continue putting words in my mouth with no basis in the first place and call me a "****ing idiot" and a "casual fan."

Who gives a **** about what styles would give Pacquiao trouble or what fighters would have beaten him in the past? For the record, I don't consider Pacquiao one of the very elite head to head greats, especially at these weights he's been fighting at recently. This is a thread about his strengths, though. And maybe you don't have the wherewithal to notice them, but rest assured, he does have some. I could very easily post a video of Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, and Juan Manuel Marquez in their individual "respect their skills" threads and say, "great and all, but they're fighting Antonio Tarver, Victor Ortiz, and Michael Katsidis respectively. Now let's see them against Victor Galindez, Donald Curry, and Beau Jack and see what they do then!" But I wouldn't. And it would be ****ing stupid to do so in those types of threads. Who gives a ****? Only people with a blatant agenda or dislike for a fighter do that kind of garbage in these types of threads. You're a broken ****ing record, *****.

Somebody posts a GIF of Pacquiao hitting Cotto or Pacquiao hitting Barrera and it's "so what? look at the oppponents flaws" with you. Somebody posts up a Mayweather GIF of him countering Phillip N'dou and it's "wow! masterful!" Or a GIF of Mayweather knocking down Hatton and it's "look at the transition from the, um...the Philly Shell to the...um, um...what did Steward call it? Oh, the check hook! Yeah, that's it. The CHECK HOOK!" Go ahead and keep doing it, too, and falsely tell yourself you've presented the world with some amazing in-depth boxing insight. ****ing fool.

Also, your idea of what Pacquiao brings to the sport involves only the type of irrational fans who think of him as a God. That's pretty damn sad. The great fights, great performances, and amazing physical attributes don't register with you. They fly right over your ****ing head. Can't say I'm surprised because I pretty much consider you a **** poster with an amazingly easy agenda to decipher from everything I've been unfortunate enough to read of yours. You know the current scene and you know it at a rudimentary level. Your topic versatility is incredibly limited. Don't give a flying **** if you have or do box. Means **** all to me. Come with something better than that, you stupid ****.

 

I feel the same, he has been slowly declining since cotto but we cant know for sure because of the styles he fought this year.
