Oscar is an easy guy to hate so we always hear about how he fought "Tito's leftovers", has anyone else noticed that Shane fought a buch of Oscar leftoevers?

    john John Molina
    Jesse James Leija
    Wilfredo Rivera
    Fernando Vargas

Well shouldn't the same people that care about Oscar fighting Tito's left overs? Or are fighters only someone elses leftoevers if Oscar is the one fighting them?

I have. There's some similarities of comparing Mosley and DLH & DLH and Tito with the head-to-head matchups and whole leftover thing.

Mosley has gotten the better of DLH head-to-head, officially 2-0. The 2nd fight was controversial, and Mosley was juiced. I consider Mosley 1-0 with 1 no contest against DLH. The first fight came when both guys were closer to their bests, and on better streaks. DLH's only official L going into the first fight was controversial, Mosley hadn't won a fight in 2 years and never at 154 going into the rematch.

While Mosley has the head-to-head edge over DLH, he also has the whole "leftover" thing, beating a few guys that DLH convicingly (and sometimes brutally) beat.

Tito may have the official L over DLH, but most agree that DLH got the better of it when they fought (or had it a draw).

While DLH may have had the better of it head to head with Trinidad, regardless of the official L, he also beat quite a few Tito victims, who were beaten brutally.

Shouldn't Vargas be considered one of Tito's leftovers ?

Actually, I guess that it's because those names aren't as impressive as the names that Tito beat before Oscar took them on.

You guys all make good points. Everyone in boxing is just fighting other guys left overs. Once a fighter loses he should be forced to retire so that we only have fights among undefeated fighters.

The biggest reason for the criticism for DLH fighting "Tito leftovers" is based on the Vargas fight, and how Vargas looked in the fights pre-Tito, against Tito, and post-Tito. Vargas is probably DLH's biggest win. DLH vowed to never fight Vargas, but fought him after Vargas looked terrible against Rivera, and better versus Flores but still not impressive.

DLH beat guys like Carr, Campas, and Mayorga after Trinidad did, but those don't even rank high on DLH's list of wins anyway.

Carr and Campos were undefeated when they faced Trinidad .. DLH came through and finished them off

Tito beat a few undefeated fighters at the top of their game.

Tito's best win was against David Reid because I think of all of his fights ... Reid set the blue print on how to beat Tito.

Are you joking? Reid was no different than virtually every other Trinidad fight up to that point. He got to an early lead even hurt Tito and ended up getting run over completly. Hell that fight should have never gone 12 rounds. Reid was given a few very long counts and allowed to go on when he was clearly not all there.

Oscar laid the blueprint on how to beat Tito but the judges were too scared to give Oscar a decision after the fuss people raised over the whitikar and quarty fights.
