Yeah, but neither Carr nor Campas rank that high among DLH's wins. Or the Mayorga fight for that matter. DLH beat Campas 9 years later and Carr 5 years after Tito, and didn't look too good in either fight. They're among Tito's better wins (both in the top half-dozen wins in Tito's career IMO) since they were undefeated top 5 contenders at the time, but not as regarded when DLH beat them.

It's the Vargas fight that mainly caused people to talk about DLH fighting Tito leftovers, given DLH's promises to never fight Vargas, then Vargas gets brutally beaten and looks in his next 2 fights like he left something in that ring in Mandalay Bay in December 2000, then DLH fights Vargas and beats him. Then guys like Lampley and Arum hypervenilate when talking about "this is Oscar's greatest win".

Reid just showed some of the same vulnerabilities that Oscar did. Sucker for a straight right hand, plodding footwork.

The Vargas win was better to me, Vargas was a better fighter than Reid. The Joppy win was better as well. Tito's first fight at middleweight and he completely dominated Joppy, considered by most as the 2nd best middleweight in the world.

Don't get it twisted ... the fight with David Reid went just like the Hopkins fight -- except Reid didn't win ...

Man I really liked the Joppy fight .. but the Reid fight went under the radar and got over looked ... I also like the Garcia fight ... a fight on the inside that brought the best out of Tito ... I think that Garcia knocked Tito down ... i'm not for sure off the top of my head.

The Reid fight was so dope because I thought Tito was losing then he landed a left hook between the glove and wobbled Reid.

3 Gold medal winners went down against Tito ...

This guy is my favorite fighter ever !!

Garcia didn't drop Tito. Tito blitzed Garcia and dropped him 4 times. That ref sucked, it should've been stopped sooner.

You might be thinking of Campas. Campas dropped Tito in round 2 with Bruce Lee's 2 inch punch. Tito almost took Campas's head off in round 4.

    Or maybe Lueshing or Cortes?

Fighting "leftovers" is nothing out of the ordinary - it's a quite common concept. At least he was the first of the elites(or former thereof) to fight Cotto.

DLH can fight anyone in the world he wants. Others have to look for the fights that get them the money, IF they can get them. But they take what they can.

DLH and Tito came up much closer in weight, SHane moved up in weight later. . . of course he's gonna face many of DLH's previous opponants.

No one cares because Mosley beat DLH. He can fight all the leftovers of DLH he wants to cuz it doesnt matter.

Why? :huh That scenario makes no sense. CLose fights are nothing new, and neither is controversy. DLH getting a couple close fight nods his way doesn't add anything new.

DLH has no one but himself to blame for his loss.

    Word.

This thread is kind of cannibalizing itself. Last I checked, Oscar is a Shane leftover.
