In this day and age of sport, why is their no refcam available in boxing. That would surely be worth catching, certiainly not the whole fight of course but to be able to switch to that stream.
I wonder this as well. The technology is GOOD. And CHEAP. Kenny Bayless wore one for the Garcia-Khan fight.
Maybe with ward out of the sport they can bring them in. It would be damning if they had a ref cam showing that the referee had a birdseye view of wards smashing in headbutts and low blows
No way Iran deserved that pentalty. Var is meant to prevent these blunders , not cause them. It might improve the game over time , but introducing it during the world cup was a mistake.
Unfortunately it's still the human that has to make the decision. What VAR can do is highlight incompetent refs more clearly. Still a lot of work to be done but I think it's worked pretty well thus far On topic - I'm in support of ref cams. An extra angle to watch a KO from
The ****ed up part is bay less prematurely stopped it. Khan had his head in the game Garcia was fading. Only if King Smoger would have been the ref Khan UD Garcia
There's still too many assistants and interference on the side lines. They need to strip it down to two people like they do in rugby. In theory it should be a great system to have and its long overdue , but it just needs some more tweaking imo. Refs in the ring should also have sound mics, so you can hear the tud and wallop of every punch. hehe!
