With Kirkland now out after Williams accadent. Alvarez needs an oppoent. Why not The winner of Trout/Rodriguez. June is 3 months away from September, the schulduled date for Alvarez's next fight. They can even push the date to Ocotober. If an anoucement is made in the next 24 hours. Golden Boy can steal some thunder from Top Rank and their bout between Pacquiao and Bradley. Espically if it is anounced that the winner is in line for a bout with Mayweather.
Rodriguez isn't that good. If Trout does his thing, he should win easily. Rodriguez would be a great match up for Alvarez. Trout wouldn't. Trout would likely expose Alvarez as not being ready for guys with boxing skills. Lara would likely do the same thing to Alvarez.
There's no one worthy of headlining a PPV for Alvarez now, unless he fights Cotto or Floyd, and that ain't gonna happen.

They will wait for the fight and see who the winner is then see if they can make a fight. GBP isn't gonna hype up D-Rod vs Trout because why the **** would they? You got a better shot of all the ABC groups merging into one and making one undisputed champion in every division.
If Trout looks very impressive tomorrow night, he'll be ducked. If he struggles badly, he'll be offered the fight.
Rodriguez is very beatable, he's solid but not ready for primetime. Austin Trout is a very slept on guy and is a tough challenge for any JMW. Trout should take Rodriguez apart, but risk/reward for a Trout vs Canelo fight I doubt Goldenboy would want to chance it
