Are we going to only have fights when covid problem has been completely fixed? Could take years. Everyone that follows this **** knows chances of catching it outside are slim to none compared to inside. So vegas type fights are off. However, outside venue (think hearns/duran) or even open air stadiums could have a nice gate going and are relatively safe. You can also have capacity at 33%, have 15k attendance in open air with distance between them and a face mask obligation. In france they are already having concerts like this. You can also have it worldwide in countries who have low covid numbers since boxing is international. Time to get things going again. Or are we waiting till 2023 for a vegas fight only?
The whole "social distancing" thing is the issue here. They don´t want too many people gathering in close proximity. It really is up to whomever is in charge.
You could work out the logistics though. And have space between people to ensure the social distancing rules. With 15k attendance in a 50k stadium its easy to accomplish. Add in facemasks and its as safe as can be. Alternative is not having big fights till who knows when. Could take years.
The world is full of idiots. I've had to tell at least two dozen people to take a few steps back while I'm in line at the grocery store. Standing closer to me doesn't make the line move faster.
Its the same with the pro mask crowd though. I have seen people jogging with it or hiking in the mountains with barely anyone around. Worst are those that wear them while driving around by themselves. Relax, keep your distance and wear a mask additionaly if it gets busy. Fight can get made. Just grow balls and ensure its as safe as can be. People are not worried about schools yet stress out for outside events or crowded beaches.
What they can do it have a big event in vegas with high ticket prices but a small amount of seats, problem is travel is shut down to usa mostly. But that wont even happen because the virus is coming back with a boom in the fall.
