The first fight was 12 rounds of Paul Williams following Quintana around the ring while getting hit in the face. In the second fight Quintana got caught cold. If PW can still make 147, a rubber match makes sense.

I feel as Paul proved he had a bad night against "El Indio" the first time around with his 1st round destruction. A third fight might not end in Quintana getting TKo'd in the 1st, but he will get TKO'd.

that would be fine but the knockout was alot more convincing then when quitanan won by a decision. kind of like with rahman-lewis. they both koed eachother but lewis outclassed rahman so much in the rematch, there was no point of having a rubbermatch because you knew who was better

Carlos didn't hit Paul with a lucky punch in their first fight, he beat him by clear decision. Huge difference.

Lennox erased the loss to Rahman and proved it a fluke. Williams proved that he can knock Quintana out, not that the first loss was a fluke.

 

How did lewis proved it was a fluke if he did the same thing rahman did in the first fight by winning the fight by ko? Marquez tko Vasquez in the first fight while Vasquez tko Marquez in the rematch. <<Does that mean Vasquez proved that Marquez tko him was a fluke? And beside it's 1-1 apiece between Lewis and Rahman correct?

There isn't any debate as to whether Lennox is the greater fighter. Was the Lewis that Rahman KO'ed anywhere close to 100%, as was the version that KO'ed Rahman after demonstrating the gulf in class between them for four rounds? No.

So unless you're going to claim that Williams undertrained for the first Quintana fight, there is no comparison.

There is no gulf in class between the two comparable to that between Lewis and Rahman. Quintana got caught cold. **** happens. That doesn't render a comfortable UD win a fluke.

 

Dude it's the same thing it's 1-1 apiece what part don't you understand? So Lewis wasn't 100 percent in the first Rahman fight? So Williams was 100 percent when he fought Quintana? lol.

 

I don't even think Quintana would win a rubber match. I'd just like to see Williams take care of what I consider unfinished business. I think that is especially important in light of Goosen's bull**** over rematches and rematch clauses. With Goosen it seems to be "if Paul wins, no rematch, if Paul loses, he needs a rematch."

 

What excuses are there? Let me hear them.

Lewis' excuses are pretty well documented. Yeah, he still got starched, but even his haters acknowledge there were circumstances separating the first meeting from the rematch.

Yes, in both instances it's split 1-1. The nature of the 1-1 split in Lewis-Rahman left no questions unanswered and no need for a rubbermatch. Even with a KO1 ending, that is NOT TRUE of the 1-1 split in Williams-Quintana.
