In the post-fight last night Johnson was asked who he wanted to fight, and after seeing the Ring top ten LT Heavys - with Bhop #2 after Chad - he doesn't even mention Hopkins.. Doesn't he want revenge for the ass-whooping Hopkins gave him in '97? Plus, that would be the biggest payday by far for him at this point.
That's not a fight that would benefit BHop at all, win or lose...Dawson vs. Bhop is the fight I wanna see.
Hopkins already dismantled Johnson. There is no need for a rematch unless someone wants to go overboard saying that Johnson is a much different and better fighter than he was at the time, etc.. Either way, in the present day I would expect Hopkins to just pick Johnson apart over twelve. I'd tune in to see it for sure, despite the fact that there is no need for it.
There's no public demand for it. More people demand Dawson-Hopkins than that but that fight isn't going to happen either.
Hopkins wouldn't take the fight and I see nothing to suggest Johnson-Hopkins II goes different than the first one really.
Agreed, Johnson DEFINTELY wants the fight and knows it won't happen. Johnson would fight anyone anywhere. Id like to see if, yeah BHop dismanteled him ages ago, but that was a longtime ago and Johnson learned from it, Johnson also feels that's his only real loss (before the Dawson fights) for sure hed want that. He wants Tarver and had said hed fight Jones again too.
