Why not just have open scoring?

I am all for open scoring, it kills some of the drama though but it can avoid a lots BS scoring that have seen especially since the judges will know they are on the spot and accountable every round.
On the down side, we have seen with Olympic open scoring sucks, where many fighters literally run after they have accumulated enough points going into the last rounds.

 

De La Hoya tried to make this fly after his Trinidad fight. I think it could make fights alot more interesting and have a feeling they wouldn't last as long. If I looked up and saw I was down by 7 rounds I would either throw everything I have and go out bangin or quit.

 

Takes the excitement out of it you idiots.

 

You run the risk of a fighter whos well ahead just coasting to victory by

refusing to engage, you could take away some of the drama of the

sport that matters.

 

Wouldn't the crowd influence the judging more? Say the away fighter was winning and the crowd booing every decision.

Also, it wouldn't happen since fights can't be fixed any more and cash cows needs protecting.

why don't judges score a fight with ear muffs so they can't be influenced by the crowd?

 

That's an idea but blows have a sound to them as well.

i was neutral or could care less about open scoring. however, one fight changed my mind and oppossed it completely and that was when i saw a fat nigerian mother****er fight vitili klitchko and when he heard the scores he just basically said, "**** it. i'm getting to old for this ****. let me just collect my money and spend it back home in those las vegas strip clubs."

 

they gotta do sumthing where u punch ur score in a computer and it adds up so at an end of the fite there not takin 20 mins to add simple math. an also sum one else besides the judges should no the score. i dont kno who should be able to really kno the score besdies judges but sum one wit power to tell the judges ur score a joke and this cant happen .

 

I think the plusses for open scoring outweigh the minuses. If there's going to be a robbery let's see the trend in the scoring from the beginning. Not just in one big shock at the end.

 

The positives for open scoring far outweigh the negatives. There is too much corruption in boxing for closed scoring--whatever can make it more fair and transparent is a positive step.
