In a nutshell. He doesn't think AJ is ready for Haye just yet. In one year, after beating another American (maybe Stiverne), then Parker - he'll fight Haye in a summer showdown at Wembley Stadium.
Haye is busy fighting nobodies and clearly has Briggs set up next. As long as Haye keeps winning even against over matched opponents it's clear Haye/Joshua is inevitable. Though I think Hearn sees Haye as dangerous, he has the kind of power to turn fights with one punch, so will delay the fight until next year after he has milked the title a bit more.
Haye first needs to show he's worthy of a high calibre fight/payday...coming back and fighting 2 cans proves what ? He's a name in the UK and so a draw...but he's conning the public that he's the same guy from a few years ago, and even then he didn't do that much at heavyweight. And I'm a Haye fan saying this. Fight a real top 10 guy and then you prove your worthiness...then you can add some weight to your claims that you can KO AJ. Till then keep talking and fighting cans....who you trying to kid ?
Because Haye will complain about injuring his toe on fight night just to make excuses for why Joshua smokes him.
