Sturm's whole rating as a fighter is due to his performance against a bloated and out of shape Oscar fighting at Middleweight 6 years ago_Other than that he's done nothing out of the ordinary.

never happen. mayweather will fight a "sturm-level" fighter coming up from super-featherweight instead

Mayweather is looking for absolutely 0 risk, and high reward. He doesn't want to fight anyone with a snowball's chance in hell of beating him. Maybe he will fight Eric Morales at 147.

if you want to count it as a 6th title....then fight the guy and take his belt at the middleweight limit and not 2 pounds over the junior middle limit...screw that

Oh bull****. Sturm's been talking about moving up for a while now and was just last week reported to be walking around at over 190 pounds. He's never come in at lower than 158.75 in his entire career.

That said, I think Floyd would rout Sturm at 160, if he decided to take on the challenge.

Sturm's resume since Oscar is one of the best (if not the overall best) at MW. Obviously Kelly has a couple of higher quality wins that each trump any one of Sturm's, but if you add it all up averaging quality with quantity...well...

Take away the Taylor fights, Sturm's resume since 2004 craps all over Pavlik's.

You've got to be joking. One of? Sure, but only because the weight class is exceedingly weak. He beat old Castellejo (who he also lost to once). He beat two of the worst titlists in history to get his belts, in Masoe and Vazquez. He beat Gevor in a robbery. His only really good win on its face is Sebastian Sylvester.

Felix Sturm is a 3 time world titlist. He has managed to maintain a "world titlist" status for nearly the entirety of the last 6 years. That is hardly "ordinary."

yeah but that cheapens the accomplishment.....

    the division is ONLY 155-160

whats the point , why make a guy come in that light? your example was based on BHOP wanting OSCAR and he said he could make it.....that was to goat DLH into ..... i

when the CHALLENGER makes a middleweight title holder come down only a pound over the junior middle limit, then i call BS on it....
    Just my opinion :smoke

Nevermind Randy Griffin and three undefeated challengers...

Taken in its sum, it's a good resume. I didn't say great. You're right, MW is not terribly deep. With what was available, he's put together a good, more than satisfactory run since his first "loss".

It was reported that Sturm is currently walking around at 191lbs.

Plus, outside of Germany, no one gives a **** about Felix Sturm, this fight wouldn't make much sense.

Pavlik v Sturm would make sense, or Sturm v Williams, or Pavlik v Williams! - these are significant and meaningful MW fights.

when there are 4 belts...there are obviously a lack of worthy challengers....because your toughest guys will be holding the other belts
    he fight AA? no.
    he fight JT? nope
    he fight KP?...NO
he hasnt even fought a miranda caliber guy

he did get knocked out by a junior middleweight though

and he has fought the dangerous

    Koji Sato
    Sebastian Sylvester
    Khoren Gevor
Randy Griffin ( 2 times haha)
    Jamie Pittman
    Gavin Topp
    Noe Gonzalez Alcoba
    Maselino Masoe
    Jorge Sendra

hes not only ordinary, his opponents are laughable

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

I don't have much more to say in this thread as there isn't much left to say, but it'd be a shame to not finish the hat trick of indignant rebuttals of my opinions from Brickhaus. :think

    Let's see...

    Sturm p4p #1, GOAT @ 160!!!!

There are approximately 1100 professional middleweights in the world. Unless you can find 300-400 who can beat Sturm, he is a long way from "ordinary."
