Mayweather is out with a low ticket sales injury or a rib injury or what have you. Marquez is still game.

Why don't we just cut the crap and make Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 next, right now, at junior welter?

I am a huge Pac fan however, Marquez clearly deserves a third shot at Pacquiao, now is the PERFECT time.

This fight, right now at 140 is better than

Pac / Mayweather (because the winner of this can fight Mayweather after Mayweather gets a tune up_
Pac / Cotto ( loses some steam cuz Cotto needs to fight at a catch or Pac has to move up)
    Pac / Mosley (see above)
    Marquez / Mayweather (see above)

Everything is perfect for this fight to be booked in three and half or four months it would be huge!

These two great warriors need to settle the score.

This fight should happen RIGHT NOW!!!!

    Anybody agree??

Legacy wise, JMM does'nt need Pac......immortality lies with a win over Floyd Mayweather Jr.

......and besides, Pac has already priced himself out of this fight......Arum has said that a 3rd fight with JMM and Marquez would only get no more than the cut he got for their rematch......and that was even if Marquez were to beat Mayweather......

.....Arum would be talking about giving JMM about 20% of the cut!:nut

    I dont agree. Why?

    1. Pac/Cotto is massive PPV than Pac/Marquez.
    2. Even if Pac loses, He can still fight JMM and cash in
    3. If Mayweather/JMM fight pushes through after clouds are clear and Pac defeats Cotto, Pac/Mayweather will be enormous.

Pac stated he is down to one or two fights and go into politics.

He will play his aces $$$ wise:smoke

JMM - Pac makes sense.... although when you consider the fact that JMM's overall legacy would be solidified with a win over Mayweather, and he'd also make a bigger and better payday facing payday versus Floyd... when you consider those two points I think Marquez is more than willing to wait around and allow PBF to heal from his "rib injury".

Are you serious...for argument's sake, JMM might not...if he wins. But until then, all he has is

    1. Close win over past-prime Barrera (Top 10 P4P at time)
    2. Good win over senior citizen Casamayor (not Top 10 P4P)
    3. Good win over Diaz who had already suffered a systemic beatdown from Campbell (definitely not Top 10 P4P)
    4. Draw with Pacquiao (Top 10 P4P)
    5. Loss to Pacquiao (Top 2 P4P)
    6. Loss to John (not Top 10 P4P)

Those are the only fighters who he's fought that anyone would consider elite, and he went 3-2-1. Against guys who were Top 10 P4P, that's 1-1-1. That's a LEGACY??? I mean, who else would you add?

    7. Win over Juarez who has lost to every elite fighter
    8. Win over Gainer?
    9. Win over Medina?
    10. Win over Peden?
    11. Loss to Norwood?

Aside from Norwood, to which he LOST to, neither a contender-turned-gatekeeper like Juarez nor ANY of these other beltholders Marquez has fought above has ever been what you would consider elite P4P fighters.

    COME ON!!! :admin

Pac / Marquez is a grudge match, a very big money fight, a fight that could happen right now, a fight that doesn't need Marquez fight above junior welter or Pac to fight above junior welter, its just a great, great fight for boxing.

I would rather see Pac fight at 140 but I doubt I will get my wish.

Honestly, I would rather see JMM fight at 135 then move up again.

But JMM / Pac 3, I think Pac will take JMM apart at 140.

Yeah, there's some good possibilities here for Pac's next fight. To be honest, I would enjoy watching any of the combinations discussed above: JMM/PBF, Pac/PBF, JMM/Pac, Pac/Mosley, PBF/Mosely. Any of those fights would be good to watch.

I don't think Cotto will fight at 142 though and I think Roach is really going to balk at fighting at a higher weight as he should, Cotto is a prime and dangerous big welter and Pac is a small junior welter. Yes, Pac can win, he can also get brutally destroyed. There is risk in every fight, but I think there is a ton of money in JMM / Pac 3, a fight Pac would likely win by KO in my book, I say do that next, because that fight is dimished if JMM loses to Mayweather ( of course its increased if he wins which is a bit unlikely but possible).

JMM will take the far lower cut, he should, he isn't nearly as popular and hasn't accomplished nearly as much, and Mayweather / JMM wasn't drawing flies, and add to that he was willing to take 17% vs Void so the reports say.

You are very wrong about that. Obviously as Pac is the P4P number 1 at the moment everyone is finding ways to put down his record eg 'Pac lost to Marquez' but the fact is, is Marquez beats Mayweather he will never escape the loss and draw to Pac and the fact he was knocked down 4 times.

Marquez becomes the P4P number 1 the haters will be all over him. Pulling apart his record. It won't stand up to scrutiny as well as Pac's does.

......another schooling session by JMM, but sadly the same official outcome!

JMM needs to dominate (not win) but dominate 9 rounds in that fight and hope that on the cards, he eeks out a decision.

No joking, thats truly my honest opinion.....so completely dominating Pacquiao 9 of the 12 rounds is a heavy burden on any fighter.

Its unfortunate, but there's no question in my mind that even without getting knocked down, that judges will generally give any contested round to Pacquiao.
.....thus to win a round, JMM must dominate it!

Pacquiao likely wins another corrupt decision.....which is why I'd prefer JMM move on and fight the likes of Mayweather, Guzman, Valero, and even Mosley or Cotto.
