Why go after Floyd Mayweather after years of avoiding a matchup with him in the past?

I'm wondering whats the deal behind going after a man who's retired -- you missed out on your chance when you were on top of the game ... now that he's at the tail end of his career and has a record of 6-5 w/ 1 NC in your last 12 bouts ...

I don't care what he's done in the past - that record doesn't grant a super fight against a guy who's owned the game for the last 12 yrs.

I personally think that Mosley can win --

    Thoughts???

He's not going to get it ... or maybe he will and taste the same fate he was supposed to face when he decline the two previous times.

And if a miracle happens and the fight happens then May wins a clear decision. Shane has a good chin so i doubt Mayweather will KO him but the difference in class will be clear. Shane is far from what he used to be.

I agree, this fight would have been great if it happen years ago like it should have @ 130 or 135. Mosley turned down plenty of offers back then. To late for him, but we know he's trying to get another big pay day before retiring. This fight could have actually happened in 06, but Mosley didn't want to fight him once again. Oh well, these are two of my favorite fighters from this era.

When Floyd was a hungry he called Mosley out. Now its the other way around. If this fight takes place which i doubt, Mayweather would beat the old lion easily. UD

Yep it's all about the cash, we wanted/needed this fight a few years ago.
