Usyk will struggle against a HW that can close distance. Once he gets clipped it's curtains.

Haye, Toney, Cunningham, Mormeck, Holyfield, Huck all relatively small CW's that moved up to HW, and they were clipped aplenty and it wasn't curtains for them, and even when they went down it took more than one shot to put them down.

I don't rate Usyk's chin. If he has to take a couple of flush HW shots, he's out of there imo.

I don't doubt he can win some HW fights against certain opponents, but dominating the division? can't envisage it.

Glad you posted these as there is a lot of chatter about him being too small. He is a proven talent and to my satisfaction has the best current resume of anyone. He cleaned out the cruiserweights, which is a dominant division at the moment. I find no reason for him not to do well, although dominating is another matter. I believe he gets a HW belt or two.

    I think usyk has Joshua's number .

Look how he struggled with povetkin, usyk is a similar size. Loom how easy AJ was to hit, it'll be even easier for a much younger, faster, fitter usyk to hit him.

I think the fight will look a lot like usyk vs gassiev with joshua plodding around the ring trying to catch him with just one combination that will change the fight.

is there any particular reason you don't rate his chin? i haven't, personally, seen any evidence to think he has a bad chin

You have net even bothered to read OP's post or watch the clips that he has so graciously provided. Usyk has been nailed in professional style fights by some of the hardest hitting men in the world.

Why do people insist on talking about things when they have no idea and are not even paying attention? It is a mystery to me.

Gassiev hurt him, he was hurt in another bout too (Glowacki?), been dropped by Beterbiev.

I don't see him holding up to a flush HW shots, if Gassiev were not so leaden footed Usyk might well have struggled.

I've watched the fellow multiple times at Cruiserweight. My opinion is my opinion,I think he can beat some of the slower less mobile HWs, but of the others who can come forward and land flush punches on him, I think he's going to struggle to go 12.

i didn't think Gassiev hurt him tbh, and i don't remember him being hurt in other fights, i'll have to see. Breidis is a big puncher and they had a toe to toe war without him being in too much trouble. Obviously that doesn't compare to a super-heavyweight like AJ in a professional ring, but all the big super heavy's he got hit by in the WSB didn't seem to have him in too much trouble. I guess we won't really know until it happens

After Usyk v Bellew... lets make:

    Povetkin v Usyk

That will shut a lot of hypers up... I can already hear Usyk fans shrieking!

The smell of fear... *breathes in*

Not really sure about Briedis being a big puncher, he is a decent puncher maybe like Froch at 168. Gassiev definitely is a big puncher, and I think he hurt him at the end of the 4th or 5th round but the bell rang.

Why the hell would that scare us? Usyk already stopped the man that mauled Povetkin and got robbed of a W, Marco Huck. Usyk would box circles around Sasha. Make the match, please.

He's a big enough puncher to KO Charr cold.
