so you're blaming Floyd for selling his fights?, Floyd using pacquiao's name only shows he knows how to get views and buys (a Mention of pac from floyd will get a lot more mention than a normal floyd interview), Like it or not Floyd vs Pac = 80% of boxing

*******s going to start saying floyd needs manny to sell his fights, *****s going to start denying that floyd does drop Pacquiao's name to get more attention.

It's like a saleman selling his product by mentioning why it's better than a rival product - it's just business

Pac and Mayweather have both helped each other become richer. But lets be serious, Pac became as popular as he has because he was viewed as someone who could maybe beat Mayweather and take his 0. Replace Pac with Cotto and have Cotto beat Margo and Hoya and he would be the second star to Mayweather and his earnings would have skyrocketed based on the possibility of him beating Mayweather. Cotto's earnings dropped significantly once that appeal got derailed as would Pac's or any other fighter.

So if you want to say Mayweather is using Pac's name you have to also take into account that all these fighters get more popular with the idea of taking Mayweather's 0.

Yet Mayweather's fans were the ones always accusing Pacquiao and his team of using Mayweather's name to sell his fights (when it's obvious it was the opposite, Floyd hasn't stopped riding Pacquiao's name since he hijacked Pacquiao-Hatton to announce his comeback)..They used those accusations to justify their claim that Pac wasn't as big a star and was riding Floyd's name with no intention of fighting him...Now after they finally see the light that Mayweather's been doing this, they flip-flop their stance and it's suddenly OK to sell a fight using another fighter's name if it generates more buys? ***** fanboyism has no limit to shamelessness

Yet Pacquiao became the biggest star in the sport and was in PPV's that sold 1.25M, 850K, 1.25M when Mayweather wasn't even in the picture due to his retirement.

It was Mayweather who deliberately used the same venue and the hype of Pacquiao-Hatton, the biggest event of the year at the time and only hours before the fight, to announce his comeback against Pacquiao's rival who was publicly chasing a rematch with Pacquiao. He even talked about Pacquiao at his conference. But you one-eyed fools probably missed that.

Mayweather is the one who benefitted with more fans and interest due to the Pacquiao rivalry, and he planned it all

I never denied Floyd uses Pac,he does. Its good business.

But dont tell me Pac hasnt gained a huge fan base because of the hype that he could possibily beat Floyd, Floyd has so many haters who immediately jumped on that band wagon, your denying that?

But can you blame Pacquiao for that? He just did the fighting, not the trash-talking.

I didn't really mean "blame" per se, what I mean is, Pac is not in anyway using Floyd in his fights, it's the fans who jumped on the bandwagon. Pac just did the fighting and winning impressively

On the other hand, you have Floyd bringing up Pacquiao in every occasion a mike is placed before him.

Your right. Manny does not bring up Floyd in his interviews unless asked a question about him, while Floyd on the other hand will randomly blurt out"Manny your next" in his.

Floyd uses Manny directly while Manny uses Floyd indirectly, whether he intended to or not his fanbase grew simply because there was a buzz he could dethrone Floyd. I know plenty of people who know Pac because he is linked to Floyd. Like i said its good for boxing and its good business.

If you take one of these guys out the picture the other does suffer a bit.

Back to the OP I don't think just because Floyd mentions Pac that gives him an extra 100k more buys on PPV,it simply creates a buzz and keeps the dreams of that super fight alive,it really is good business.
