Why pacquiao is not an atg!!!!

Since the DLH fight, the whole world has gotten caught up in Pacmania, and now all of a sudden Pac is an ATG. But has his recent activity really warranted this status??

Dec. 2008- He fought DLH who was drained down to 147. A DLH that Mayweather had already beat at 154. I understand that many before the fight thought it was risky fight because everyone expected DLH to come into the ring with a significant weight advantage. But he was so emaciated that Pac was actually the bigger man in the ring. Its not Pac's fault but nonethless he beat up a smaller weightdrained opponent.

May 2009- Pac KOed Ricky Hatton in 2. Solid Win but doesn't make him an ATG. Mayweather had already KOed Hatton and given him his first loss. Hatton’s chin was cracked and he admitted he was crying like a baby afterwards. he was ruined. And don’t give me that crap about it not being at Hatton's best weight. Hatton fat ass would balloon up to 152 after his weigh in so fighting at welterweight simply meant rhat he had to cut less weight. Mayweather was the p4p#1 and Ricky wanted that title as the challenger so of course they fought at WW. Bottom line, Pac beat another Mayweather leftover.

Nov. 2009- Fought Miguel Cotto. Another good performance by Pac but tarnished it by asking for a catchweight. Part of what makes moving and winning so special is the fact you step into someone else's territory and still whip them. But Pac doesn't want to do that so he asked for a catchweight. Some people are gonna say that the cathcweight made no difference but if that was the case, then why ask for it??? And let's not forget that Cotto while a solid fighter and very crowd pleasing is not elite himself. He got beaten too a pulp and quit against one of the slowest, most unskilled fighters in the history of boxing. Then went life and death with Clottey, a guy who is a master at finding ways too lose. Cotto has been one of the most overrated fighters of the last 5 years.

March 2010- Joshua Clottey- what really needs to said about this fight. Pac fought a guy who finds ways too lose, and still couldn’t land anything clean, and got his face scuffed up.

Mov. 2010- Antonio Margarito- Here you have Pac beating a guy who was last seen winning very unimpressively against Roberto Garcia (who????) and got KTFO by Shane Mosley. How don’t care how big Margarito was he sucks, and was fresh off an ass whopping just how Pac likes em. P-WILL spanked his ass, Santos clipped him, this guy is a bum and beating hum certainly doesn’t make on an ATG.

In closing Pac is a great fighter, future HOF, but he’s certain no ATG, and beating weightdrained fighters, fighting at cathcweights, and fighting guys fresh off knockout losses does not make one an ATG.:deal

Haters can cry about the 145 and 150 title he won but you can't deny the 6 division title he won prior to that.

    6 division with wins over
    sasakul
    ledwaba
    barrera
    morales
    marquez
    diaz
    larios
    hatton

If you don't consider pacquiao an ATG then nobody in this decade is considered an ATG:good

Says the newb with 36 posts...

Anyway, to respond back to you at one point guys like Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, and Williams were regarded as the kings of the division, and they all needed to fight eachother to prove who was the best. 147 was the most stacked division because of these guys!
That was a few years ago when pac was fighting below 130 pds. Within a few years he goes from fighting Barrera, morales, Marquez (all awesome fighters who you failed to mention) at lighter weights, and then jumps 2 divisions up to beat DLH on his stool, KO hatton in 2, KO Cotto, landslide victory against Clottey, and pummels a 17 pd heavier Margarito.
As for catchweights he's only fought 2: Cotto and Margarito.
Cotto: Weighed in 146 for his previous fight, and Pac wanted him to make 145.
Margarito: Fought most of his career at 147, won a belt at 154, and Pac wanted him to weigh 150 after that.
DLH: DOES NOT COUNT! He Forced Pac to go from 135 to 147 (jumped 2 divisions), and Oscar had to drop 154 to 147 (only 1 division).

It's not only the quality of opponents, but how he demolishes them as well. Floyd beat Hatton...Yeah, but Pac demolished him. Mosley KOed Margarito by holding, body shots, etc Pac fought him man to man, Margarito beat Cotto after chasing him 11 rounds and punishing him (taking a beating himself), and Pac made Cotto look weak, and ametuerish.
The man has hardly lost a round since moving up in weight, and has fought some of the best, well known fighters in the world.

Let me ask you this question then: Who does Pac need to fight to be an ATG then? Mayweather won't fight him, if he beats Marquez people are just gonna say he's old and Floyd's left overs, If he beats Bradley/ Alexander there gonna be to green, if he beats Martinez then Martinez was weight drained and to green.
Who can Pac beat that'll make him an atg in your BLIND Eyes?

Maliginaggi fight was a bad stoppage by one of the worst trainers in the game Buddy "I'm stopping it Baby" McGirt.

Khan TKOed Maliginaggi too I guess he needs to be in the ATG discussion.

Pacman, has some good wins but his others are spotty to say the least. Some were weight drain or just recently coming off Ko losses ( Cotto, Hatton, Margarito).

    no lets have it right.

pac was an underdog for many of these fights. pre marquez 2 everyone is happy with yes?

vs diaz, **** tilist but still a strong man at the weight, i actually thought diaz could do him the way he did judah.

vs oscar, i had a hunch he would batter oscar, but he made far more concessions than oscar did.

vs hatton,. i expected hatton to twat him, honestly i was amzed when he won. hatton at 140 was unbeatable IMO

vs cotto. by now his stick had risen massively, and this was just less than 50/50 in cotto's favour. pac proved his class.

vs clottey, clottey was ****, really embarrasing. but outside floyd, cotto and mosley, i believe he was the best,

vs margo. joke fight, not surprised by the domination.

overall, i feel he is on par with duran, whittaker and floyd.
