its of course the fight we all want to see, but do you guys think there are any factors or possibilities that can cause this fight to not live up to its hype ?

I don't think it'll live up to the hype. THe expectations set by the delays and anticipation for this fight are ridiculously high. There are even casual fan idiots who believe this is the fight to "save boxing". Boxing has been alive and thriving hard in 2011.

it wont live up to the expectations, the only way it does that is if its some hagler hearns type stuff, mayweathers style makes the fight less interesting for casual fans so it wont live up to the hype.

I don't think anyone really thinks a war will occur due to Mayweathers style but I think the event will be so big it will be exciting. For example I liked Klitschko-Haye

it would live up to the hype..... defensive fighter vs offensive minded fighter, when an irresistible force meets an unmovable object, somethings got to give ;)

lol i hate when people say that.

    one fight can't save boxing.

putting fights on cable tv and having 1 champ per divsion can save boxing.

I think the fight will a highly contested boxing match with hot spots here and there. Kind of like Pac/JMM II...no?

I don't even think it will live up to the fight..

Okay..round 1, they're gonna size each other up..rounds-2-5, pac's gonna turn up the juice. Floyd may or may not trade depending on how many left hands he eats. I'm guessin' after the 3rd consecutive punch from that left, he counterpunches and goes into his bread and butter which is counterpunching. From Round 6-12,He gets into "boxing" mode and gets on his bicycle forcing Pac to chase him around the ring. The problem is Pac ain't gonna tire. These are the rounds that Mayweather Jr usually thrives in, but pac's stamina will carry him through. One thing Pac can do, is just stay in the middle..make Mayweather throw a punch. Pac will stop chasing him.

If there's going to be a knockdown to make it exciting it will be from Pac. Floyd is going to taste the canvas if he trades.

It won't be jaw dropping stuff in the ring, if you expect a war then forget it. I see a relitively tactical fight where both fighters have their moments and a close decision at the end of a close fight that will get debated to hell and back.

That being said, it will be an event if it ever happens. Boxing needs those kinds of events to attract a wider audience and the best two fighters in the sport going against each other is enough to do that. Boxing is good without the fight (have you seen some of the great fights we've had in the last while) but an event like that is always a good little bonus for the sport.
