I always thought JMM had better technique than Floyd and Pac. He just didn't have their physical talents. Time decayed Pac's strength and speed and leveled the playing field a bit, plus JMM taking PEDs while Pac stopped taking them helped a lot too, same as with the Floyd fight.

Marquez's physical gifts are actually overrated in my opinion. He's got good stamina and good power. But his reflexes, head movement, quickness, speed and lateral footwork isn't much at all really. Marquez is actually very flat footed for a Featherweight. Does not move laterally at all for a guy his size.

His technique is superb though. Clearly levels above Pacquiao and also arguably better than Mayweather's technique. The thing about Floyd JMM fight is that at the end of the day size does matter. It just does.

Besides being about twenty pounds heavier, an inch taller, with five inches of reach Mayweather was also a lot faster than Marquez. Mayweather and Pacquiao in their primes were two of the fastest boxers ever. Marquez is not.

That's true too, however, Margarito and Oscar was also much taller than Pac and he was able to put on his attack.

Right. That's when it can get tricky and puzzling.
I just regret the fact that the fight did not happen several years earlier. We would all have seen a much competitive fight worth a lot more than 100$ PPV.
    Oh well...
