Calzaghe gets rinsed for fighting bhop 3 years ago for fighting an old and past it hopkins. yet 3 years later Jean Pascal a champion at light heavy weight champion gets no mention of cherry picking, or using bhop as a stepping stone or beating an old man, all of a sudden its competitive?

Because Pascal is NOT a cherrypicker like Calzaghe and because this is not Pascal's last fight. He won't clame his so-called ''greatness'' because of it, like the Welchman whose resumé is 2 times less impressive than Froch's.:hi:

Oh, and that fight was 2 years ago, BTW.

People will reserve judgement until after the fight and use it for their own agendas. Even if Hopkins looks stellar outclassing Pascal for 10 rounds before knocking him out stone-cold, he would still have been "past it" vs Calzaghe.

    Keyboard warriors always have agendas.

It was not only because of this that Calzaghe proclaims his greatness.

This fight pretty much gets ignored and is classified as "ugly". Another "ugly" figt for Hopkins in his folder I guess but I can't lie and say I'm not even a little interested in this matchup. I do prefer this weekend much more(Bantam tournament & Khan-Maidana, good times).

Well, it's considered as his biggest win.

I think the wide UD over Pavlik showed everyone that Hopkins still had it after Calzaghe, plus Pascal is young and trying to use this launch his career. Whereas Calzaghe was at the end of his career trying to solidify.

Because who cares about Hopkins? lol. This guy has done everything and anything in his career. If he wins...no big deal. If Pascal wins..Hopkins is old, but If he knock Hopkins out...DAMN!?!?!?!?

This. I too am waiting to see what will happen but I give Pascal credit if he wins but the question is "How does he win & what will his performance look like?". I'm a fan of both but don't think that just because I'm a Pascal fan that I will give him lots of credit for beating Hopkins. It really depends on how Hopkins shows up and if he'll stink up the place or fight brilliantly but we really don't know which one he'll do yet until after the fight. Unfortunately, I've seen his last two fights.

I hate these types of whiny posts... Are you aware no one is talking about this fight at all? Sounds like you are suggesting Pascal is on par w/ Joe C.

I stopped taking BHOP seriously years ago. The guy just cant let go, it is the only thing he knows how to do. I feel sorry for him at this point.
