Yeah, If Floyd fought Cotto he would be stepping in the right direction towards Ray. Now, he is doing something else. Fighting a guy he already beat. A guy that is old and not even a active fighter.

It is just Floyd has not faced the names/quality of fighter that Ray faced. Which is not his fault mostly to be fair but there you go.
