I just think fighters are discredited on how what era they are in. To me, we shouldn't compare all fighters. Do we really know how they would of done. All the old greats would probably fight at a class or two lower then what they fought at (they didn't drain a lot of weight). Would that draining of hurt certain fighters. Would they be too small compared to todays fighters who fight at these weights. That's just how I see it.

I dont realy see that tbh. Look at Sugar Ray Robinson a WW at 5'11" and is much bigger than Floyd at 5'8" or for example or Henry Armstrong who would be LWW 5'5.5" Hatton is the man at LWW and he is 5'6" he also has a longer reach than Hatton (although that is not hard)

In the 70's and 80's and such Napoles who is the same size as Cotto; Leonard who was 5'10" and Hearns who was 6'1" the same size as Williams.

So i dont see it that much to be honest bar at HW.

Didn't vote as either option is moronic. Floyd can never get close to SRL's resume for obvious reasons, and he will probably never fight in the exciting fashion and with the warrior's heart that SRL showed.

On the other hand, talent and skill wise he is right up there with SRL, and is not so far behind on an ATG level. He has accomplished a lot in boxing and, while he will almost certainly never outstrip SRL on an ATG level, he is certainly ''not even close''

Oscar is closer to SRL than Mayweather. Sure, Mayweather has the best defensive skills ever, but when it comes to exiting a crowd, being a people's champ boxer-puncher, Oscar in his prime fit the bill much better. Now, saying that even Oscar couldn't come close to SRL's legend. In time, we will get another Sugar Ray but not now, and sure as hell not Mayweather whose carreer is pretty much coming to a close but no one wants to admit it. So, I think we can pretty much judge Floyd's whole carreer at the moment. He will fight DLH again, then Cotto. Even if he beat both, still not enough to compare to SRL.

Funny you mentioned Mantequilla, since I beleive that Cotto's career is taking the parallel of Napoles, both extremelly talented hard hitter, with killer left hooks and so far Cotto is given the Napoles treatment by PBF negating him the title fight in similar fashion Curtis Cooke did..until he got KO in consecutive fights...

Hey chump...you said moronic?..this is the basis of boxing and for that matter any sports, but more in boxing where is a one on one sport...

In every generation theres are powerful opponents of equal prescence in the rankins to challenge the top boxer, SRL had: Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, and Duran...and he fought them all....all

PBF generations at this point has: Cotto, Williams, Margarito, SSM and Cintron...this is are the top ones in similar fashion to SRL period, yet PBF has decided to think that they are beneath him and he can do waht he wasnt choosing opponents to load the bank..and his legacy..

Well let me tell you in sports, legacy and loading the bank are never on the same side...so at one point in your career you ahve to decide should I go for the money or for my legacy...well...guess what...PBF has decided he is for the money..so any talk about his legacy is pure bull****....

Shane is old. Floyd would never recieve credit for the fight. He would of been too old.

Cintron isn't that good. Unless he pulls some **** out of his ass later in his career being sparked by a SHITTY Margo ****ed it all for him.

Margo is bad and should not be considered an elite of our time or ever.

Williams and Cotto are both up there but still are far to go. Neither have done anything to earn a shot at Floyd.

The winner of the two would be best to determine the outcome of who should fight Floyd next.

You see you make my point, the minute I named the top oppnents you start qualifying...who said anything about qualifying the opponents, these are the guys that will get your boy his so coveted legacy...instead you start qualifying..at any point on this thread anyone but anyone has not qualify but you...this is classic...

And that mentality is the main reason your boy will NEVER be at SRL level....:rofl

All you say is the same ol shot in different ways. Obviously your knowledge of boxing is limited to Mayweather and whatever he's talking about at the time.

I guarantee, not many respected people from boxing would agree with you.

Williams beat a guy that Mayweather turned down 8, yes 8 million of your US dollars to fight.

If he beat a guy Floyd wouldn't take 8 million to proove that he wasn't elite - Then he kind of looks like a punk for not fighting the guy that beat him.

Williams deserves a shot. Floyd should fight him - Williams is the kind of guy that adds to your legacy and not your bank account.

That is the key - Floyd is 30 - He should fight legacy fights from here on in - He could comfortably retire on what he made in the ring this year alone, do it for the legacy Floyd.

Because there is simply no one else. That's why. Remember how hot the 140/147 was? It's merely okay now, good but not great like it was.

You say Im limited to Mayweather, yet Im posting in a Mayweather post... :patsch

Mayweather turned down 8 million because Arum (the guy behind why Cotto-Floyd isn't happening) would only give Floyd 7Million for Cotto/Hatton.

Cotto/Hatton are bigger threats that shitty Margo.

EZE is hilarious, first he claim that it is not fair because he doesn ;t have the opponents...I pointed out that he does....the best of his era at his won weight...as I mentioned Cotto, Williams, SSM, Margarito and Cintron....these are the guys that will give him and add up to his legacy..and what he does..start qualifying the opponents...

Now don;t come and tell me is not fair becuase it is...you have to fight the best the it is at your disposal..and PBF is not excersicing that options, plain and simple..and you will notice that I have ommitted ODLH purposely, since at this point on his career, he is basically nothing more than an average boxer....
