Seriuosly, he is the longest reigning champion still fighting, he is unbeaten, linear champion at MW, ring champion at MW and LHW. He still seems to have very poor respect among boxing fans ... why?

Not making big fights earlier in his career. He has proven to me he is the real deal though. Judges give him too much credit for his pitter pat flurries sometime though,.

Are you serious? I think he is given more credit than just about anyone. His fans think he is a god. And everyone else give him credit and agrees he is an ATG, it's just his diehard fans that annoy everyone.

I vote other, because without admitting it I'd say the vast majority know Joe's in the cream of the crop, but a majority of his fans are such ass holes about it, that admitting it to them would be like smashing your dick with a hammer.

If he beats a couple of elite fighters before he's done, i will truly regard him as a great fighter. But right now, i'm still not sure. I mean he barely beat a 43 year old Hopkins that ran out of gas. How can i give him so much credit?

Kessler? Yeah, we'll have to see what he does. If he goes on to do great things, Calzaghe will get more respect. But if he doesn't, then what? Lacy? He's been proven to be overrated.

So who has he really beaten that was truly "elite"? If he beats a combination of Dawson, Pavlik, Tarver, Taylor, Johnson, etc, then i will give him credit. But right now, i still think he's overrated.

You know, its hard to say whether Dawson is more ellite than was Kessler or Lacy. Taylor is just way below Hopkins recently, Johnson is taugh but nothing special and Tarver is a recent Hopkins victim.

The only true test for Calzaghe is Pavlik but to get proper respect Pavlik should at least beat any other top MW (Kessler, Bute, Froch) to prove he is not "too small" for Calzaghe.

Well, most of you Euros might think that Taylor, Pavlik, Johnson, and Tarver are trash but not Americans. We consider these guys proven fighters. And if Calzaghe beats a couple of these guys, i will give him all the respect. But right now, i'm still not sure. But that's just me.

Because he still needs 1-2 fights in hostile territory against stiff opposition.

PS! Please Arum plus Warren. Take the Pavlik-Calzaghe fight to Ohio!!!!!!
