    combination of things for me
    a) i hate his style its really amateurish and not really aesthetically pleasing to the eye...im into more technical fighters but that's jus a personal preference
    b) as a UK citizen i didnt like the way he was hyped before he'd even accomplished anything and i dont like the media hype now about how he's the best brit ever...lennox lewis anyone??
    c) he gets too much credit from the judges for terrible technique and aggression when a lot of his punches dont land in scoring areas. I prefer quality over quantity which is the professional and right way to score
    d) he in my eyes undeservedly got the nod against b-hop my favourite fighter

Right, torn new assholes by Hopkins not Calzaghe. Old Hopkins the man Calzaghe defeated but looked far, far less talented than ... in a split decision

Because that so-called decorated champion has so few meaningful victories over decent comp. [Dawson would defeat Joe 9 out of 10 - Chad's too big, young, strong, and skilled]
Few comparisons could be less accurate. Jeff is a short, stiff SMW, who doesn't box well, who was vastly less experienced than Joe. Chad is a tall, athletic, quick handed boxer with good skills who has already demonstrated that he could stand in with and take heavy shots from Glen Johnson (a boxer that Joe wanted no part of .. repeatedly) who is vastly less experienced than Joe.

He should .. but they will quite likely result in him getting KO'd thus demonstrating that he was overrated and no where near the best.

err ... it took him whole career to crack top 10 p4p, even he have the best boxing resume available he still is in most people eyes not ATG worthy ... that is the reason I'm asking why?

Were the most pompous fanbase for any fighter.

Though the Mijares fanbase is gaining on pompousness and just wait for the Gamboa fanbase to heat up, your good friend Sir Amsterdam is heading up both of them.:yep

I'm not sure I get your point here. If you look at the examples of all time greats I named, those guys fought all over the world.

My theory is that there is a concerted effort to dis even the most fearless white warriors like Calzaghe and Pavlik; kinda like uncle tom Kellerman did last Saturday. Likewise on ESB, some P4P Pac fans are being portrayed to act like Floyd/Oscar fans to distract from the FLoyd/GBP influence . Money talks:yep

the generation of fighters you mentioned, well some of them, i am not that old
    all defended there titles abroad.

it was the norm years ago.

todays fighters calzaghe included tend 95% of the time to fight at home.

yet it seems only fighters from outside america get pulled for homecooking.

off the top of my head mayweather/toney/hopkins/jones/mosely/ all fighters likely to go down as ATG had home advatages in every single title defense they had .

i have no problem with this as long as posters do not hold non americans to different standards than they hold there own fighters.

Really? Hopkins fought all his title defenses in Philly? All of RJJ's fights were in Florida? Toney fought his in Michigan? Mosley's all occurred in California? Fighting in the US doesn't mean you have 'homecooking' ... you think if Margarito (for example) fights in Los Angeles, California it is the same as if he fights in Connecticut?

Right .. and just how is that relevant?

    Here's the statement you made:

    I said:

To which you had the smart-ass reply:

Now you make a comment stating you "new (sic) that black people lived in Brazil without a Harvard education".

    You out of meds?

    :huh

he has proven him self.i just think the americans want an american to beat him so they can say i told you so.
but pavlik aint going to be able to do it .so start looking for someone you think he can actually lose against and get that fight on.
