anyone old enough to be around when president bush first got into office would pick up on it .

    as to your arguement

james toney was born in ann arbour USA but lives in california USA

so calzaghe born in london ENGLAND has had more title fights in a foreign country, WALES than nearly any boxer in history.

never new that until this thread.

Exactly, I mean no one knew who the hell he was until his win against Lacy. Since then he's been having worldwide fame for only 3 years and still fought guys like Peter Manfredo Jr. and Saiko Bika. He's a great fighter no doubt, but some of his nuttggers are a little extreme. They think he's the greatest British fighter ever and that he can beat James Toney in his prime. I mean how ludicrous is that?

He'd probably like to be seen as an Italian, but the Italian New Yorkers have a different type of history that would not credit him with the same ancestry (I'm not Italian, but this goes the same for any American of Irish decent who don't see "off the boat" Irish as the same. It always goes vice versa but I have noticed this in NYC).

I know some people doesn't count WBO titles but saying NOBODY KNEW WHO THE HELL HE WAS untill his Lacy fight makes you simply boxing ignorant ...

I have to admit that I do not give JC total respect I am not a yank I am a Brit. JC has had a good two years and slowly earned my respect. He has been protected for far to long and the constant slaping and his **** wit dad really ****s me off.

To be honest I think I am being harsh but you can not help the way you feel.

I would love to see JC fight Pavlik I think this would be a great fight and would really show JC wants to be remmbered as legend

Is he the P4P no1 no way he should have fought Jones Toney ECT

    1. doesn't have enough names on his resume...

    2. many of his fans claimed he is past his prime, so wtf was he doing in his prime? well..he stayed in europe fighting no name opponents.

    3. his best win was kessler, and perhaps the first to expose overhype lacy who can't box.

    4. didn't really dominate a 43 yr old hopkins which a lot of people expected him to do.

i'm no hater, i gave him credit and i honestly thought he could have done more if he did make a name for himself in his prime. Thats why i only gave him his deserve credit, now that he's speaking of retirement it somehow is not good enough since he's suppose to be establishing his legacy. If he fights pavlik, tarver, dawson and beats convincingly he'll get his due

i love joe c ...i dont have aproblem with how hard he hits because it's the fact that he DOES hit that i like him..hand problems and all he keeps swinging and swinging ...i'd rather watch him throw 1000 pitter patter shots then watch bhops throw 60 power punches .. call me crazy at least joe c fights

for someone with such a soft punch he's certainly did in enough fighters and shame on them fighters for not getting through soft touch joe lol must hit pretty ****ing hard if no one can get through the shots to get to him

Anyone who claims he isn't a great fighter is an idiot, and anyone who complains about the lack of power in his punches is an idiot too, he trades volume for power, and it wins him fights, 45 of them so far.

Take a look at James Toney's face and Joe's and tell me who gets hit with the jab more.

You perpetuate a myth, You see, Jones and Toney were light heavies by around the time Joe won his first supermiddle belt beating Eubank... :-((

The guy has a mediocre record littered with Euro cans and he never fought a bonafide great fighter in his prime ever.......much too protected. Lost on many accounts to an ancient BHop
