Why people don't like Gennady Golovkin - The Truth

Why not be honest about the situation? Team Triple Duck wanted NO parts of Andre Ward because they knew it was a certain ass-whipping. The money issue was secondary. How much did Bumlovkin make to fight Wade or any of the other TOMATO CANs he's knocked over recently?

Seriously, what kind of a moron are you? Jacobs was never hurt against Mora, let alone "almost KTFO". It was a flash knock down. Canelo was hurt against Jose Cotto more seriously.

 

Why not be honest? Ward negotiates like he's Mayweather while generating Rigondeaux like numbers.

 

Because he's not as great as people make him out to be that's why.

 

And yet Ward managed to come to terms with Kovalev to make a big fight - moving up in the process. Meanwhile, Bumlovkin has a deal for $15 million dollars on the table in front of him but for some unknown reason can't seem to find his pen.

WTF is really going on here? Why is it that Bumlovkin can't make a big fight at nearly *35* years old?

 

K2/GGG didn't want the fight in 2015/2016, but they did want it in 2012/2013. Even losing a UD to Ward at that point would have brought his name to attention if he gave it a good go.

In 2015/2016 GGG's team didn't want to jeopardize the Canelo fight and payday. It all comes down to risk/reward, and the risk of losing a decision and consequently millions from a Canelo fight was huge. And I disagree that they knew it was a certain ass-whipping. Ward UD is my pick and remains the likeliest result, but it would probably be competitive at 168lb or below.

Nevertheless, I agree that if GGG fought for legacy and not money he would have pushed for the Ward fight in 2016 and backed himself to win it.

 

Cherry-picking? We've been over this many times before, I disagree, and I think it's pointless to reopen this discussion. You simply have a different definition of cherry-picking. BTW is Canelo fighting Chavez Jr a cherry pick, he could have offer one of the top SMWs a chance to lose a few pounds and fight him instead? I don't class it such, same as Golovkin being willing to make concessions to Froch and Chavez Jr but now to Ward.

Money-loving? Well, either him or his team are pretty intent on maximizing his earnings in what remains of his career. It wasn't always like that, but, you know, never believe a fighter when he says he fights for legacy and not money.

 

I am a GGG fan.

 

chavez fight is perfect blend for canelo....big money fight and a chance to step up to bigger guys for the first time as a prelude to golovkin or whatever may lie ahead

again...u want to compare canelo to golovkin here....but canelo doesnt have people going around here claming hes the baddest man who ever walked into a boxing ring.....there arent guys out there saying canelo destroys Light heavies.....canelo barely rates as p4p and nobody call him an ATG

canelo hasnt even had a fight at the full 160 limit and started at WW.....golovkin is a career MW who has tried to make fights at 168 and still mentions them...his promoter has mentioned going up for a big fight then back down

canelo is also still a relative pup...look at what other 26 year olds in the game are doing and where they are at..

ward is featherfisted and was coming off a layoff....it was the perfect time to strike if they had any confidence in being able to defeat ward....they didnt...they had none

 

Canelo is top 10 p4p, will end up in the HOF at least. A good deal of Canelo fans have him even higher than that.

Like I said, I'm not blaming Canelo for fighting Chavez Jr. Never have complained about it.

Just think you can't duck a man outside your division ... if he had moved up to 168 lb then refused to fight Ward - that's a duck in my eyes. If Ward had stayed at 168 and fought DeGale, Jack, etc. rather than move up and face Kovalev, that's not a duck, he gets extra credit for facing Kovalev. If DeGale is willing to fight Stevenson at 175 lb but not Ward/Kovalev, that's not a duck. If Bellew is willing to fight Haye at HW but not Joshua, that's not a duck. But if he stays at cruiser, vacates to avoid Briedis/Huck while fighting some lesser opponent, that's a cherry-pick.

i just think when you are out there floating the names of froch,chavez, degale, and zurdo at 168....and then claiming you tried to fight a guy in "2012/2013"(which i highly question)....but then turn him down after hes been on a long layoff and is now available to fight? i kinda consider it a duck.....
