Why people still talking about Williams as a welterweight?

The same way I cant count Manny or Floyd (comeback) as welterweight until they fight REAL WELTERWEIGHTS, under WELTERWEIGHT rules.....I can't count Paul Williams as welterweight if he is fighting anywhere from 154 to 160lbs. Want to be counted as WW??? Fight at WW. Very simple! Otherwise is just a big guy wanting to come down in weight to fight smaller guys. IMHO

I think he should stay @ middle myself. There is plenty of decent comp. there for him to test himself on.

None of the welterweights will fight him, that's why he's fighting bigger guys.

William's is a welterweight who fights at higher weights because nobody in their right mind wants any of PWilly at 147.

Precisely. PTP can still make the weight but has been frozen out of the division bottom line.

I talked to Paul Williams on the "On The Grind Radio Show" and he said he's a WW and feels it's his best weight and could still make it no problems. It's not Williams' fault that he was froze out of WW by Arum because he knew he would work his fighters.

The Arum/Goosen pissin' match over money that came up with the proposed KP/PW fight didn't exactly help Paul. Goosen tried to get some more money, and really hurt Paul by trying to help him, and that pretty much sucks.

That only has a little to do with it IMO. I think Arum knows that none of his fighters at 147 could beat Williams so he could throw that out there as an excsue as to why he won't put his fighters in there with Williams.

I think it's pretty bad that Mosley has set his sights on Berto rather than Williams now that a Pacquiao fight looks highly unlikely. PTP is truly the most feared man in boxing.
