Why people still talking about Williams as a welterweight?

No one wants to fight him at 147 but he can still make 147.

Boxers don't have to want to fight him. He needs to spend enough time in a weight class to become a mandatory. He could make 4 fights from here to next summer @147 with some guys ranked from #8 to #15. Get some impressive victories and get some people talking. He is trying to do the same things Manny and Floyd. But he doesn;t have the fans base to do that. Right now, he is not doing anything to be considered for a fight at 147lbs. He has to stay closer. Antonio Margarito will need a nice fight for his comeback. If Williams is well ranked at the moment, he might be an option.

Arum actually might throw Clottey in with PTP because he doesn't have the economic draw of his other welters. Couple that with Clottey's recent loss to Cotto, and he will probably have to be matched tougher to get back on HBO or Showtime.

Think about it. I honestly think a fight against Berto right now will give Mosley more money than fighting Williams(and less risk). Plus, once he beats Berto he will be in posession of 2 WW belts. Isn't that sweet??

Talk is cheap when you are promoted by Arum.

YOU GOT IT!! NOBODY WANTS HIM?????? CLOTTEY WANTS HIM!!!!!! What has Williams done to deserve a fight with Mosley. His last fight @ WW was a rematch against Quintana!!
NOt hating on Williams!! I think he can kick some ass @147lbs. I just think he is following the wrong game plan right now.

Again...who should he fight when none of the top WW wont fight him...If I'm not mistaked...Clottey just lost to Cotto so why would Williams fight the loser of a title fight?? It really doesnt make any sense.

Bob Arum refuses to deal with Al Haymon, Williams' advisor. If Arum is willing to put aside his petty differences in order to make money, the fight would happen.
