Yeah, thats the trouble with Eubank, once he won, he got into a comfort zone, some of his performances were bad, which is a travesty when you saw how he could fight, were he motivated and fighting like he did against Benn , then he'd have been an ATg no doubt.
Bull****, there was nothing about Roy's performance that was near prime. I honestly don't know how anyone could think that. I know Calzaghe didn't think that either, he would have never put his hands down against a near prime Jones, never.
Jones could never survive a murderous puncher like Benn, this is why he was protected in America for his entire career and built up into some sort of legend while beating up on smaller fighters or cab drivers.
I am by no means saying Eubank and Benn would be easy fights for Roy, though I felt Roy would have beaten both of them. Some people seem to be writing Jones off at not having a chance, which seems very foolish to me. Benn and Eubank in their own words have expressed that would not be the case, I don't know why people would think otherwise. And I also do believe they were slightly intimidated by Jones as well.
Benn and Eubank were two great warriors who I loved watching, and supported, but RJJ would have battered them both.
******ed statement, he started at 154 and moved all the way up to heavyweight, you can say lots of things about Roy, but beating up on smaller men is not one of them.
I have seen your boxing videos, Clinton Woods would **** you up man... He probably ducked you as a favor.:deal
OK, as long as you can admit Jones' legacy was built on dominating 2 ATG fighters, I can live with that. As for looking like dog **** against southpaws, the only southpaws he struggled with at all were Harding and Tarver... I don't count Calzaghe because he was shot to bits by then. Harding I gave the first 2 or 3 rounds against Roy i think, it has been a while since I saw it, but Jones built up a comfortable lead towards the time Harding couldn't continue. Jones was also never himself by the time he fought Tarver, we all know that. I know you will say Del Valle, but other than the flash knockdown, Jones worked him, almost to the point you could have given Roy a 10-9 round instead of a 10-8 when he was knocked down. You look too much into when Roy was past his best, and not enough when he was at his best. Toney vs. Jones was not boring, that was a showcase of amazing skill, I was entertained the entire fight.
Benn and Eubank were great fighters, warriors but a Prime RJJ??!! Comon now people lets be real here. A prime RJJ! To be fair they would but up a good fight but both would lose, simple as that.
Prime Roy was the best ever.**** a heart and a chin.with the much god given talent in speed and power alone he had a 160 or 168 ! aww man get the **** out of here.rjj in his prime was like nothing you seen or ever will see again in boxing.the **** he did in the ring was ridiculous. there has never been someone like him since him, hell there was know one like roy before or after roy.best fighter ever in his prime bar ****ing none.
