Why professional boxers do not seem to be fans of boxing?

u ask floyd about a certain fighter, he has no idea who u are talking about. pac too. this is common with a lot of boxers.

 

i remember hearing Sugar Ray Robinson's response to a prodding reporter about a potential opponent. Ray looked puzzled. When the reporter pressed the question again and again about the hot fighter, Sugar shot back, "I'm a fighter, not a fan"

 

its well known that floyd follows boxing and keeps up and watchs a majority of fights in all divisions lol. he just pretends he doesnt watch pacman fights

 

There was another interview with Robinson, where he openly admitted that he didn't really like boxing (twas mainly something that paid the bills).

 

Mikkel Kessler was nicknamed "the hitman" in his prospect years, but he didn't even know who the **** Thomas Hearns was...

 

Students of the game watch it.

Personally one of my favorite things to do while watching a fight is to try to spot other fighters in the crowd during the fight. The whole Golden Boy crew is there a lot (Bhop, Oscar n such).

 

In many interviews Mike Tyson said him and Gus use to watch lots of boxing.
Floyd must watch it as he gambles a lot on fights in various divisions. Says he knows everything about sport.
Pacquiao didnt know who Brandon Rios was when he was asked. He fights who ever BOB tells him too.
The skilled fighters must be big fans
