Here are the final stats from Kessler-Calzaghe. Calzaghe did outland Kessler with power punches but it looks like it was really won on jabs. Interesting that Kessler averaged 47% with power punches.

EDIT: Guess they didn't paste correctly!

You have to consider two thirds of Calzaghe's punches are actually defensive movements, just to keep his opponents in their shell. With that in mind Calzaghe landed 90% of his punches, which were actually intended to hit the target.

Calzaghe is one of the best fighters in the game when it comes to adjusting his style. He knows that he won't be able to overwelm Hopkins with punch output alone, this is why I kinda believe him when he says he will be sitting on his punches a bit more this fight, which often means a lower output.

In that interview where Enzo was spazzing out he was talking about how they were not going to even give Hopkins time to think, basically to overwhelm him. I'm not sure what to believe. It's also hard to imagine they are going to give away what they are planning to do.

    Good points

Same thing happened to MR. OUTPUT himself Paul Williams when he fought Quintana..... Quintana's lateral movement, defense, and counter rights, lefts won him the fight easy and left Williams in the dust.

Williams output was about 50 percent of his usual output in the Q fight

Now it is all clear to me why Hopkins chose Calzaghe to be his swan song...

He knew, after watching the fight vs. Kessler that Calzaghe was being overhyped, that people had become completely irrational about Joe Calzaghe.

He knows that Calzaghe's been protected, he knows he's got technical flaws like the Tower of freakin' Pisa.

He knew he'd be the underdog, but at the same time he knew that Calzaghe is MADE for Bernard Hopkins to look impressive against.

    Bernard will shock the world.

    Hopkins TKO 9.

When you are getting tottally bombarded you cant attack. Calzaghe will skin him on the insdie as well. In fact calzaghe will knock b-hops block off with the class he has.
