I have said this long time ago, and not just rabbit punches, but all kind of dirty boxing and dirty tricks needs to be penalized strongly.
All kind of dirty play, even if it's lead to Champions get DQ.
There is a rules and they need to be followed STRICTLY !!!
    Good thread buddy.

Stop bending down and turning your head away as a form of defence, Mayweather had his personal Refs to protect him, other boxer will not.

True but Floyd is wise to rabbit punches as a consummate pro etc and knew how to guard from them and referee's would listen to him because if Floyd said it's an illegal punch on the back of the head get him to stop he isn't joking, same if Usyk says it.

It's when you have 7'9" heavyweights like Wilder who will swing with a cuff form 1 mile away and can still hit an opponent on the side of the head. Hard to stop it or see it as a referee.

Half of the punches Wilder & Fury knocked each other down with where behind the ear.

Usyk is going to get hit on the back of the head against Fury and on the beltline, in the kidneys everywhere.

It's a fight...and the fight game comes with roughhousing illegal tactics that you must be prepared for...and if you get in the ring death or severe disability is always a consequence which you accept.

Whyte & Fury both settled their behind the head punching with a brawl. If someone hits you on the back of the head multiple times and nobody is doing anything about it, you either bite their ear off or you chin the referee...That's just how it is.

This was the problem with Prichard fight it was unchecked by referee, cornermen and Richard... You have to check it. MOST Referee's are professional DOSSERS and you cannot trust them with your lives.

Who was it recently? Smith Eubank? CONSTANT rabbit punches

Well it's difficult to penalize the fighter when a fighter ducks into one. If it's clearly blatant I agree, just like a lowblow imo - it's all up to the ref really.

unfortunately rabbit punches happen quite frequently.
referees do call this out from time to time. but not as regularly as i would like. there have been many times over the years where i thought, why fighters weren't warned, had point deducted, or disqualified for hitting behind the head.

fighters who bend into the rabbit punch should be called out and penalized for that too.
