Styles make fights and Joes matches Roys well very well lets see if Joe can

handle those quick left hooks, and Roy's movement, also let's see Joe adapt

to someone as equally quick as he is.

If Joe come in slapping he'll get knocked down 2x and Roy will win a UD, This

was a bad choice for Joe and he should have retired. Yall must have forgot?

    Roy's movement these days is a NON-factor.

I didnt like the way Roy let the Road Warrior smother him with volumes of punches. That worries me in his fight with Calzaghe. He needs to make sure he doesnt let Calzaghe do the same thing. If Roy wins this fight, he has said he wants Wlad Klitschko. He's already discussed this with Wlad. Roy could make it exciting.

I think Roy can upset Joe as well. Roy can punch and his reflexes are still there, maybe not 100% what they used to be but a good 85-90%. That 85-90% is still better than any other Light heavy weight out there right now.

Roy has also rekindled his MOJO as of late and I expect him to win this fight in impressive fashion I am going to be rooting for Roy! Ya'll Definitely Must Have Forgot!! 60-40 I'll kick your ass! 60-40 I'll kick your ass! Whooo. I might even be up for an Avatar bet fellas, so let me know!

The main thing is that Joe can't punch so Roy does not need to worry about getting Knocked out this time, that makes the old genius very dangerous.

Yeah, but Johnson is a different animal. He puts real pressure on you and throws punches not slaps. Plus he was capitizing on the fact that Roy had just got knocked out in his previous fight and his confidence was down. I think Roy has rebounded confidence wise and has adapted his style to compensate for his loss of mobility and quickness. He looked more like Winky Wright than the old Roy Jones in the Trinidad fight. The only clean shots he was giving up were to the body, not the head. I think Roy still has the handspeed and ring intelligence to box his way to a UD. He'll beat Calzaghe at his own game IMO cause he does everything JC does except better.

He's still got power and speed. Almost certainly enough to trouble Slappy.

I just wonder whether he'll begin to tire post round 5. I'd love to see what he's like in training nearer fight time.

I just hope he doesn't pull a Roy and fight half-baked. He should have the motivation. Let's face it, it could set him up for a real big final fight if he takes JC's name on his ledger :bbb .

RJJ's still a good counter-puncher. Joe leaves his chin out. If Slappy Joe gets caught with something like he did against Popkins it could be over.

Somehow though, I'm having difficulty seeing it. I think my faith in RJJ getting serious is waning! :D

I still think the most likely outcome is JC winning by decision and looking as lousy as ever in the process.

We'll see nearer fight time though.

Roy was also coming off of a brutal KO and Johnson is not the guy you want to fight after suffering a consussion months earlier, stupid decision on his part this is different he has legs back under him now and has looked good lately, so I expect a hostoric performance and redemption for Roy.

He is the best athlete to grace the squared circle in the last 20 years period.

I hope so brotha...I'm a true Jones fan. I was crushed when he got KO'd by Tarver....was literally depressed for about three weeks. Lol1 No lie! I think he has one more great performance in him and he really, really wants redemption.

Calzaghe is probaly quicker then jones now. Jones only chance is a KO, and he isnt even Koing blown up welters at the moment, let alone someone with a real solid chin like JOe.

He would like nothing more than to stick it HBO for the way they treated him after his losses.

    I can hear him now....

"What do you have to say now Larry? I thought I was done Larry, that i should retire? He was supposed to be P4P #1 Larry!!! Ya'll must have forgot"

    Factors favoring RJJ:

    1) He's naturally bigger
    2) He's got more power in his punches
    3) He can still put together lightning fast combinations that can hurt you
    4) Calzaghe lacks pop and that's a huge factor for RJJ right now considering his chin.

Having said all that, his only chance is at a KO. There is no way he outpoints Calzaghe. So he's going to try to catch Calzaghe with something. And i would like to see him work off the ropes like he used to do in his prime with those beautiful upper cut/body shot combinations.

I can't wait for this one!!!!!!!

Jones provides very little lateral movement these days. His shell defense does work very well for someone with diminished reflexes like him, but JC throws a lot of punches from many angles. Plus I do feel his power is underrated as it got Lacy's respect in 1st rd and he did hurt Kessler to the body and had him backing up at times. Roy should avoid a ko though if he continues to keep his hands up. I do see him giving JC problems in spurts but I don't see him being consistent enough to pull off the win.

Is this not just shades of Tyson-Lewis with people WANTING him to win and forgeting the reality of his age.

Jones, either UD or late stoppage...
