This is actually nothing new, he done it before in his prime. I don't like it because he puts himself in danger, but it works for him now.
Moron why would Hopkins be able to do what a younger Jones couldn't? If there is one fighter who has the physical ability to move, I would think the younger Jones is more capable than Hopkins. Jones just choose not to do it.
yeah thats wat i meant, I said he didnt have good defense referring to traditional defense. (Winky, Floyd, James Toney) Roy was sof ast and gile that he just made people miss. Thats wat i meant, nasically the same thing that you are saying here. I think ROy will look better in his next fight, I think the layoff affected him a little bit. But he is fighting off the ropes a lil too much for me, but what can he do when evry1 is just coming out from the opening bell and tryin to pin him on the ropes?
It isn't that Roy can't move anymore. His opponents are simply putting him there now. Back when people were intimidated by him, they used to allow him to pose in the ring all night long, pop shot, and do whatever he wanted. Now, his opponents saw Tarver expose that Jones isn't invincible, and they punch when he punches, and put the pressure on him in a more functional manner.
That is nonsense. Fighters don't get shot directly after a great performance. Especially when they didn't take any sort of punishment whatsoever in the fight itself. You don't go from being on top of the world to being shot that fast.
Nah i dont think its that, b/c like i said be4 Glen johnson wasnt the 1st to try the pressure approach. bryant brannon tried it 1st. and got knocked out in the 2nd round. I think now that Roy has gotten older, he cant do wat he use to do as far as being as mobile as he once was. Legs are going
Jones may be counting on his opponents to punch themselevs out ..I'd like to see how he continues to progress at this stage of his career .
