So are all of the non-US posters attempting to deflect that a large % of erronious decisions happen outside of the US? What about Whitaker - Ramirez? What about the HUGE number of fights in Germany? I could keep going...corrupt judges are EVERYWHERE...here and across the pond. Gimme a ****in break guys.
Who disagreed with this? And the one fight you mention did benefit the Don King fighter- again!. And a foreign fighter would likely get a decent deal in the states- providing he signed a huge deal with a US telly network of course. When comparing US to UK i'd agree again. However, I think a 'marquee' fighter would get a better deal over here than there. It would be difficult to remember a time when a 'top' US fighter was jobbed of a decision in England.
THer have been FAAAR more sketchy decision in Europe when talking about Boxing. And corruption is everywhere no more or no less in the US if compared to the UK.
Its not the fact that people disagreed with it...its that people keep bringing it up like its a forgone conclussion that any euro fighter coming here would get a bum rap. Again, corrupt judges are corrupt judges, whether they are from the states, Germany, England, the MOON! Doesnt matter. This shouldnt factor into the decision, nor the arguement of why Calzaghe should or shouldnt come here. Money Legacy Exposure All would benefit from him coming here. Anyone who is doubting that has an agenda, Im sorry...
the us has a larger market. the population of england is 50 million and the population of the united states is 300 million. of course, the number of boxing fans would need to be determined, etc.
If fighters from the UK come over here and are always robbed than Hatton would have lost to Collazo, end of story.
But the guy signed with a lucrative US television contract won. The US isn't the land of the 'home' decision, it's the land of the 'marquee fighter' decision.
There are countless examples that would suggest otherwise. Jumping to mind, Golota getting robbed against Byrd and Ruiz. :smoke
Weren't Byrd and Ruiz with King though? As I mentioned earlier 'Don King' decisions are a law onto themselves.
We want to see him!!!! The show he just put on for us by staying up and fighting Kessler at a really late hour already gained him a **** load of USA fans and shut the **** up a huge # of critics. Come on over Joe and get that cake. IMO, he would not get robbed and just like Sam Peter, Miranda, Klitscko's, L. Lewis (he did get robbed and American's were outraged), Tito, JMM, PAC, Tua, and countless other non-American's we would love him just for coming over to show us just how good he is.
:good You beat me to it. That is a fight disputed by many, but Hatton won. Hopkins won't go out of the US. Joe said he wants to come to the US. If Joe gets robbed, everyone in the boxing world will know it.
