Crawford gains nothing fighting Troyanovsky, maybe to the hardcore but that fight won't make him a penny or new fans. Enough of him fighting the fringe names of the junior welter division time for him to move up and demand that his promoter get him money fights or go the Mikey Garcia route when his contract is up. Once again a fighter beats the guy he was suppose to be afraid of and you build another guy up, but not even a known fighter. Just another obscure Euro boxer.atsch Time to at least face the Vargas, Bradleys, and possibly the Margaritos of the 147 division. Get some more name recognition on that resume.
Fighting Burns and Troyanovsky makes him undisputed at 140. I don't think that's ever been done. So history is in store for Crawford at 140. Sadly Vargas won't be relevant anymore once Pacquaio gets through with him in october.
What´s the point? He already outclassed Burns once before. And besides, even if he got both those fights back to back, it would take a year before he holds all four belts. There is nothing to accomplish at 140. He already beat the best. Bob better get along wih Big Al because PBC has most of the top names at 147 and 154.
Undisputed is the point. He should gobble those belts up, he's obviously better than the current WBA and IBF champ, why not get those belts, become undisputed and solidify yourself as one of the best p4p fighters in the game. 147 will come, right now focus on supremacy at 140. History is to be made.
i would like to see him completely unify 140 or move up sure. but even if the fights to unify 140 are seen as "weak" and "beneath crawford" i would have no issues with him taking it, he just fought the number 2 in the div both guys deserve respect for making the fight happen if he wants a tune up or a stay busy fight with a title involved then who can argue ?
I'm all for him moving up. He's secured lineage at LW and now LWW. He can probably have a good 10 or so fights at WW before his career is up. That division is wide open as well. If Pac is next there's then fights with Porter, Thurman, Vargas, Khan, Broner, Garcia, Marquez. That's assuming Brook doesn't do back down again as well.
They wont move him up because they know he'll lose to the better 147 talent. He will be moved up after everyones battle weary at 147 though.
If he can make 140, he should stay at 140. Postol was the first elite opponent his own size that Crawford had, there are plenty left at the weight. He is not a big 140 light welter either, 147 might be his final stop.
Unless he can secure a fight against Broner which seems to be highly improbable, there's no reason to stay. He should really consider moving up.
Nothing of note for him at 140. TR can set him up against Vargas,Pacquiao, Benavidez at 147, before even having to do biz wit PBC
