He is still one of the more exciting fighters to watch, and is world class... Just because he has fallen short against two of the greatest fighters of his generation doesn't mean he should retire..

I mean Roberto Duran lost to Leonard, Benitez and Laing in a short amount of time, and then went on to lose to Hagler and Hearns but he kept fighting.

The Hearns v Duran fight was just as uneven as Hatton v Pacman, and ended with a devastating KO as well.

I am mean if he wants to retire than thats fine, but all these people calling for him to just retire is unnecessary.... He is 30 years old, and still in great condition... he just got in the ring with an ATG who had the perfect gameplan and style to destroy him.

I am not really even a fan of Hatton's , just saying he doesn't have to go out like that, and I don't think he will.

    anyways,, GO PAC MAN! :good

    hmm says...

    ask yourself this

    1. who will want to fight Hatton?
    2. will a win over Hatton be significant?
    3. with any trainer, will Hatton improve?

He has a good whole life ahead of him.... kid, fiance, lots of money, his health, a pub, and some of the best damn fans.

He'll have one more go, believe me. Either it will be Kahn or someone of that ilk. But he will return, win, and then will retire from the game. He needs a farewell bout that will end on a good note.

Hatton draws huge crowds and presents big $$$ paydays ... There will be people... I know Junior Whitter wants Hatton right? I am sure he wants him even more now.

hmm says... of course any fighter would like to go out with a win. If he does indeed fight Khan, I think he needs to reconsider. Roach believes that Khan's hand speed is faster than Manny's.

If he wants to continue he can win titles at 140 from all the rest. pac won't be around, and he didn't take a susatined beating, just a short, brutal lights out one.

It's not good for your brain to be that out for that long though. Duran was face first KO'd by Hearns, but he was up quicker too...

He recovered a bit quicker ya, but watch that punch again... I got a good feeling that Hearn's monster right at 154 is a more damaging blow physically than Pac's left at 140.

He mind as well retire. I think we've seen his limit and it looks as if he's not going to accomplish much more in the future. At this point he should probably do the smart thing and retire and live off the millions he's accumulated in the Mayweather and Pacquiao fights. Although I'll respect any choice he makes. Fighters always want to have one last go at it and redeem themselves.

I'm not debating the power of the two punches - I'm saying the effects of Pac's were more devestating in this case

To compare Hatton with the likes of Duran & Leonard, is simply silly. He is not and has never been in that league. He's NEVER been a boxer per se..he leads with his face and has brashly bullied his way up, beating lesser opponents. Kosta was a sheer fluke and in any event, Kosta was at the end of his fighting days.

If he was capable of BOXING he'd still have a small chance in the future. He should quit now, before sustaining further damage & embarrasment!

I won a lot of money on the last fight!!!

Agreed...he's become a bum. It's tragic when a fighter carries on beyond his innate intuition!

Sad aint it? One minute you're the best 140 pound fighter in the world. Two rounds later, followed by 24 hours later, you are a bum.

    Bull****.

Hatton was a good fighter and certainly has been in alot of exciting bouts and made the division great to watch. No he isnt close to Hearns or Duran, he never said he was either. He is just Ricky Hatton, and he was GOOD!
