Why should Haye get more than 50/50?

Klitschko should put everything in the pot, but Haye gets to keep the one source of revenue where he supposedly adds in more (which isn't even true, Klitschko as an opponent is the reason it would make that much in PPV). Like CHEF said what about the TV deals in every other country but the UK, where Haye is not a big name at all. Don't be ****ing ridiculous.

By effectively demanding more than 50% Haye has clearly shown to not want to fight. By shutting up and not reacting to Wlad calling him out, he has reiterated that same point. He wanted Harrison instead, and that fight will only worsen his bargaining position.

Did he actually ask for more than 50-50 ?
On the video Haye says he wanted "50-50 of everything" but Wlad said no.
And then Haye said ok, let's have it 100% of UK for Haye, 100% of Germany for Wlad, 50-50 on everything else, and Wlad said no.

Yes he did, he wants to keep his UK PPV money instead of putting it in the pot, which would effectively give him more than 50% of the total revenue.

Fifty fifty on everything is exactly what was proposed to him.

But in the video he says 50-50 on everything is what he first offered Wlad.

Thats not exactly true haye said he was willing to do 50/50 if wlad got the highest offer from german tv which he either wouldn't or couldn't do because he has a tv contract.

Unfortunately Haye never said what TV station offered more nor what their offer was. Haye is obviously full of sh**

There is no TV station in German that could possibly - even just THEORETICALLY - offer more than what Wlad gets from RTL. They're the biggest commercial TV station in Germany. They're the biggest ad-financed money making machine.

Sounds like Haye was actually proposing 50-50 of a bigger pot than Wlad was prepared to negotiate.

Haye seems to want to maximize the total purse then split it 50-50. He talks about that clearly on the video. People need to listen again ....

If wlad has a deal with the network for fights he probably gets a set fee for the fights rather than a higher lower fee depending on the opponent, i could be wrong but in theory another station could offer more money than that if it thought the wlad/haye fight would do big business.

And Haye was prepared to work with them if they wanted to bid for this particular fight.
But it sounds like they have Wladimir Klitschko on a multi-fight deal that doesn't allow for giving that kind of chunk to a "Klitschko opponent" ...... so Haye's counter to that seemed fair (100% UK for me, 100% Germany for you).

Having said that, I believe Haye is over-pricing himself, but it makes good business sense, and actually Wladimir would do better under Haye's first deal than what he gets under his own deal.

So Haye expects Wlad to get out of his RTL contract, which would cost him millions, so he could put in a few more millions for them to share? Sounds very reasonable.

Besides there is no German commercial station capable of offering more than RTL. There's no PPV market in Germany of any significance.

I dont buy that "RTL and the current contract is the only show in town" line of argument.

Here in the UK, PPV came out for the second Bruno-Tyson fight and did huge business. Prior to that, there was no PPV market in UK.
And in fact the first Tyson-Bruno fight was one of first sports events on SKY, and sold hundreds of thousands of dishes and subscriptions.

Contracts have been re-negotiated and complex collaborations have been put in place for many big fights over the years.

So it's wrong to imply that Haye is asking the impossible. From a business point of view he's bargaining well.

Having said that, i think he over-prices himself at the moment. He should have fought twice this year already to back up what he says he's worth - and if he chooses Harrison as his next victim he's doing himself no favours.

There's an existing contract with RTL. Getting out of it would cost millions, RTL isn't that stupid. You are expecting Wlad to pay millions so Haye could potentially earn millions :huh

    I'm not expecting anything.
Anyway, it's clear Haye thinks the Germany money could be bigger. So Haye has said keep 100% of Germany, I'll keep 100% of UK Sky PPV, but then you cry that's not fair on Wlad because Haye might end up better off ? :huh

And wladimir's last fight didn't even get on Sky, and was relegated to the backwaters of primetime, where I was one of the dozen people who bought it - and he was fighting a decent opponent too - yet it's being argued that he'll be the draw on Sky PPV.

Wlad seems to reap the benefits from the RTL contract, when he can get big money to fight the likes of Hasim Rahman and Sam Peter or anyone he chooses. I'm not expecting him to get out of that. But Haye's counter seemed fair on the face of it too.

It's not fair because he'll end up getting more than 50%, and because he expects Wladimir to split all the other revenues through the middle.
