**Floyd dominated a certain type of fighter much like Roy Jones did. Someone like Manny is the worst possible match up for PBF. Mayweather got hit with Mosley's straight right because for once he had to watch for a real hook. How about Manny's entire offense and the crispness of it? The best defensive fighter in history would only be able to avoid so many. How easily Shane rocked Floyd is enough for me. How could you even compare Shane at his age off an 18th month layoff to a southpaw who just won fighter of the decade? A man much more dangerous and prime than Shane named Manny Pacqiao will hurt Floyd. I really believe it is too dangerous for PBF and I doubt he will risk his status and do something he does not do - fight the dangerous fighter where he has no advantage. That is why some boxing fans do not like Floyd. The World is done with bubbles for now. If Floyd makes the claim he is the greatest then face Manny and let winner take all.
Pac should fight Floyd. The best fight for both there is. Floyd really really needs to fight Pac. Pac is already in the company of greats by being FOTD. What's FLoyd's legacy, his zero loss? Are there any prestigious award for having no losses? Pacquiao getting FOTD is a slap in the face of Mayweather. The only way he can rectify that is for him to fight and beat Pac. Otherwise the ghost of Pacman will haunt his legacy forever.
I agree Pac fought guys who were best suited for him but mayweather did also. I feel that he could have cleaned out the 140 division and fighting Diaz and Clottey tells me he is really clamoring for easy wins because neither guy has ever stepped up to the plate and won something real. Oscar was a good decision to make him come down in weight and he was getting dominated in sparring by valero, so you tell me what was the real story. Pac is a very good fighter but against Floyd I truly think he is out of his league. Its not conditioning its everything that Floyd is a master of like distance, clenching, jabbing, hooking, defense and the biggest intangible is the ability to take away what you want to do. He has the reach advantage on Pac and should be able to stay out of harms way to deliver his shots. Pac will be a tough ricky HATTON LIKE TEST UNTIL HE STARTS TO LAND CLEAN SHOTS THAT Pac doesn't see coming because once Floyd gets into his comfort zone then he makes you either change into his style or get humiliated. What will Pac do beside attack. Is he a better boxer I dont think so. We found out against Marquez that he can be countered and that people with good timing can give him fits. What will he do if Floyd attacks him like he does most of the South Paws that he has fought in the past. Can Pac fight off of his back leg and counter. I dont think so. Can Pac be bullied like Tyson did against Holifield. With any great puncher or pressure fighter all you have to do is get them desperate to land a big shot and you have them right where you want them. Perfect example Whitaker vs Chacez. Chavez was way out of his league with a master boxer who was strong willed and wouldnt change his game plan for no one. Hatton versus Mayweather same result. Calzage which is more of a volume puncher found it hard to get off with no target to punch and looked bad against Hopkins. That what master boxers do to you. They make you look bad and frustrate the hell out of you. Corralles was the las pressure fighter who had a big punch that Floyd fought with a real chance to beat him. N'dou was overrated and a power puncher but one dimensional and eventually got knocked out. PAC stand by for a big payday and then a bigger MAYDAY.
Roach is more excited for this fight than he was with the dela hoya fight. He even said Mayweather is an easier fight than cotto or the Mosely that beat Margarito. So for the people who said Roach/Pac ducked Mosely - it is because they want to fight Mayweather from the start who in turn ducked Pac.
Pac have been supposedly fighting out of his league for quite a while now. He's doing great isn't he. Some can't believe it they need to accuse him of using drugs. Think about that.
I absolutely love this forum. It is a source of great fun and hilarity. Long may the humor continue...
Incredible. Nonsense that you might acutally believe. It's transparent to see that you are a floyd hugger. With the way that you CHOOSE to analyze Manny's career and SPIN Floyd's. You don't want to mention that Shane was in active for the longest stretch of his career before facing Floyd and the fact he was 38...you don't want to mention that JMM jumped up not 1 but 2 weight classes to meet Floyd who held a size, power, reach, height, youth, talent and speed advantage over him and then have the nerve to come in 2 pounds OVER the contracted agreed weight....you don't want to bring up RICKy had to move up to a division where he CLEARLY did NOT belong with average performances at 147 before losing to Floyd... and you Fail to mention that many felt DLH beat Floyd...I didn't but it was TOO CLOSE for a prime talent like Floyd to have gone through even though DLH was bigger. See....you can spin anyone's career to meet a stance you are pushing....but it doesn't make it reality.
When did Pac start taking the easiest fights? :huh Let's see...He didn't do that by rematching Marquez. He didn't do that by jumping 2 divisions (after only having one fight at 135) to face the bigger DLH when many said he could be seriously hurt He didn't do that to fight Hatton who was undefeated at 140 and just come off a masterclass pounding over Paulie Malignaggi He didn't do that against Cotto who is one of the toughest 147lbers and punishes all of his opponents (Pac ended up with a busted ear drum) He didn't do it against Clottey who is notorious for making his opponents look bad and was competitive with Cotto and beat Judah in his previous fights. (plus this fight was quickly put together after negotiations for a Mayweather fight broke down) I agree he shouldn't fight Mayweather though. Not because he might lose, but because Mayweather does not deserve to fight him with all the bull**** stalling he's doing. Pac does not need Mayweather, he will always be greater than him, with or without a win over him. There isn't anyone else out there for Mayweather to beat which could take his legacy to Pac's level. Pac should tell FLoyd to **** off. But you know he most probably won't and will bend and accept the ridiculous 60-40 split offer. Because he is a true fighter who believes he can beat Mayweather and will want to prove it.
