Why since his loss to PBF, people are acting as if Hatton isnt an elite fighter??

    I agree, it should have happened there in the first place, but Hatton's Dad said he wasnt ready for the fight, so Mayweather moved up and went elsewhere. Had he never fought Hatton, people would have said he avoided him. Mayweather should have been the true champion at 140, but Hatton denied him the chance, and gave Hatton the chance to take his title. It was unfinished business in my eyes.

    Exactly. And people on this board are the biggest hypocrits. Some guy said he was merely fine with Floyd fighting Hatton, and thought it wasn't anything big of a win but gives him credit. I go back and find that he was hoping Floyd would fight Hatton/Cotto/Williams.

    He was hoping they'd fight. After he smashed him, he was nearly fine with it.

    Why should we? Floyd fans would love it if it was like that but it just isn't. Hatton had fought his last fight at light-welter and Floyd his last at light-middle. The fight was made at 147. It certainly was not for the 140 title.

    Uhm yes it is.

    Hatton weighed 154 on fight night against Floyd. What he normally weighs as a Jr WWW (152-154).

    Floyd weighed 148/149.

    If they fought at Jr WW these would be there respective weights.

    Because both weighed as they were fighting at 140 on fight night.

    But they didn't have to make 140 at the weigh-in. Not having to make 140 would certainly give some one who fought his last fight at light-middle an advantage. I'm not saying Hatton beats Floyd at 140 (I think PBF takes it) but we should definitely not think of it as being for the 140 title.

    It must be said that Mayweather only weight 150 for that fight and weighed the same fight night. As of now Mayweather has only fought 7 times over the lightweight limit so size shouldnt even be a part of the equation. Hatton has fought at 140 or higher his entire career, and Mayweather started at 130 and gradually worked his weight up.

    Floyd weighed 150...thats maybe a lb over what he'd weigh as a Jr WW had he cut weight.

    Hatton's regressed. Lacks jab and tactics. He needs to watch Duran a lot more attentivly than he does. Ol' bob had variety and tactical nous. He also teed you up with his jab. These things are what Ricky has ceased to do.

    Mitchell wasn't coming off a loss, and Judah was Floyd's most viable option when Floyd fought him.

    There you go - he didn't have to cut weight! He made 147 comfortably.

    Stop trying to spin this into a fight for the light-welter title.

    Mitchell was a warmup fight for 147 and wasn't coming off a loss.

    The contract was signed when Floyd fought Judah. He went through with it and beat the former champion.
